Top destinations to visit this Easter
The weather is finally getting warmer, flowers are starting to bloom; this means Easter must be right around the corner. With a four day weekend to spend with family and friends it is a great opportunity to get away and recharge. Head out into the great outdoors, visit somewhere new and appreciate spring in all its glory. With over 60,000 cottages to choose from across the UK, and plenty of last-minute discounts, what are you waiting for? Here are our favourite destinations for Easter.
Norfolk
Norfolk, with its fantastic nature reserves and beautiful coastline, is a top destination to visit this Easter. This spot is always popular with bird watchers but there is plenty else to do here. Enjoy the network of waterways that make up the Broads or enjoy a stroll along one of its many sandy beaches. For some seasonal fun, head to Blickling Hall near Aylsham. Here you will find one of the most impressive shows of daffodils in the whole of the UK. Expect over 10,000 daffodils lining the avenues and providing a bright splash of colour.
West Sussex
Sussex is well known for having some of the sunniest spots in all the UK. This, and the fact that it offers both a beautiful coastline and vast swathes of the South Downs National Park, makes is a great place to visit this Easter. Enjoy ice-creams in the spring sunshine or head to the countryside for a long walk followed by egg rolling; there’s plenty to do here. For something a little more Easter related, why not visit Uppark in South Harting? This house and gardens is one of the best spots in the UK for spotting hares. For the best chance of seeing them, visit in the morning when it’s quieter.
Lake District
The Lake District is certainly one of the UK’s most loved National Parks and we’d be hard pushed to think of a time of year when it’s not worth a visit. That said, it is remarkably beautiful in spring and a top place to go at Easter. From the lambs bounding about in the fields to the new growth on trees and in the hedgerows, it is abuzz with new beginnings. Work up an appetite for your Easter lunch with a range of walks for all abilities, or try your hand at egg rolling; there is plenty to do here.
York
The lovely city of York is brimming with Easter activities; making it an excellent destination for the four day weekend. As well as enjoying the fresh spring air while strolling around the city, take in one of the events on offer. The hot favourite has got to be the York Chocolate Festival. After all, Easter isn’t complete without plenty of chocolatey treats for everyone. Chocolate aside there are also farm parks to visit, Easter egg hunts to join in and spring blooms to appreciate.
