Snaptrip says

Guests are generally delighted with Lowe-McConnell, praising its stunning views, cosy feel, and excellent location by Lake Windermere. The property's cleanliness and well-equipped nature receive positive mentions, alongside the thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. While some guests note issues with maintenance and a steep price increase, the overall experience is one of comfort and enjoyment in a beautiful setting.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is frequently described as clean and tidy, with several guests highlighting its spotless condition. However, a few guests mentioned that certain areas could benefit from a deeper clean, slightly affecting the overall impression.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Lake Windermere and the convenience of the nearby ferry. Guests love the beautiful views and the ease of access to local attractions, making it a standout feature of their stay.

Many guests find the cottage comfortable, especially noting the cosy feel and the comfortable bed. However, some guests mentioned that the sofa was not as comfortable as they would have liked, which suggests room for improvement.

The property is well-equipped for self-catering, with guests appreciating the kitchen facilities. Nonetheless, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a loose tap, a problematic lock, and a leaking radiator, indicating that some facilities require attention.

While guests mention welcome packs and local goodies, there is not enough consistent detail across the reviews to accurately assess the level of thoughtfulness as a guaranteed offering. Therefore, this score is set to null.

It also kept sticking from the outside too so we couldn't get in either. Eventually it would unlock but you have to just keep trying it til it eventually works. The radiator in the bedroom leaks if you try alter it, we really wanted to turn it off as it was really warm in the bedroom but when we went to turn it down loads of water spewed out. The property is starting to look quite tired, we've been staying there for a few years now, we've been a total of 5 times and honestly the bedroom and bathroom needs a refresh now, there are cracks everywhere and the cleaners never clean behind the bed or the bedside tables, the dust in there is unreal. We like the location of the proper as it makes it easy to paddleboard but honestly we probably wouldn't stay there anymore if it wasn't for it being on the lake as we always have to deep clean it when we arrive. The floors are always really dirty and our socks end up black after an hour of waking around unpacking. The place needs looking after a bit better to be honest because it used to be really nice but after a few years of wear and tear and not very through cleaning it's not worth £800+ for the week. Besides the fact that it needs some love, the beds a really comfy, the location is stunning and it's actually a really nice little place, especially if you want to hike or get out on the lake, hence the reason we keep returning. It's worth following Windermere ferry on twitter to check if it's running or not too because if it isn't you've got a lengthy drive around the lake to get to the property. We arrived last week and I forgot to check but when we arrived in the lakes we saw that the ferry was closed for the whole month! Anyway, these houses have their pros and cons but my overall feeling is that they need a bit of a deep clean and a lick of paint (and a lock change)

Located next to the Windermere ferry for hopping across to the other side of the lake. One day we had no hot water or heating and this was dealt with very promptly by Sykes customer service, who contacted us later in the day to check it had been fixed.
