Staindrop 1.9 miles. Otters Holt is a charming, detached, open-plan lodge lying in Winston near Staindrop, County Durham, on a lovely working farm surrounded by beautiful scenery. With an outdoor log-fire hot tub, the lodge is perfect for a couples retreat to explore historical local towns and take long walks in the countryside. Otters Holt sits picture-perfect on a gravel path, where inside you will find a bright and airy open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting area; the kitchen is equipped for rustling up a hearty breakfast to start your day, as well as a sofa for two by the gas stove-effect fire and Smart TV, perfect for putting your feet up after a long day's walking. The open-plan space also has a king-size double bed nestled in the corner with storage for your belongings, as well as a sliding door leading to the shower room, complete with a spacious walk-in shower and heated towel rail to warm you up in the morning. Staindrop is a lovely Teesdale village, closely associated with the fortunes of nearby Raby Castle, one of the most grand castles in England. Only the medieval heart remains along with a walled garden and 200 acre deer park. In the village, there are a variety of interesting shops, pubs and cafés, on a picturesque green surrounded by beautiful scenery. Staindrop is a great location for visitors interested in history, wanting to escape the hustle and bustle, and enjoy long walks in the countryside.

Immaculate throughout with everything you need for your stay. Kitchen has a 2 ring hob, microwave and electric grill with all necessary cooking utensils, crockery & pans. Plenty of electric sockets, placed exactly where you need them. Bathroom is spotless, shower pressure and heat great. Sofa and bed are super comfy! Heating in cabin, easy thermostat control with a separate gas fire Dog blanket, towel, bowls and poop bags provided. Wood fired hottub with plenty of logs & kindling for our 3 night stay. Stunning countryside locationâ¦.glorious! Food for the soul. Thankyou to Mary and Stephen for your recommendations of things to do/see and for creating such a perfect idyll for you guests. We will be back.
