About this property

Tucked away in the charming Northumberland village of Bingfield, approximately six miles north of Corbridge, and a short distance (approx. 3 miles) from Hadrian's Wall is Clover Cottage. This wonderful, single-storey detached cottage has been stylishly furnished with contemporary interiors, high ceilings with exposed beams, floor to ceiling windows with views of the stunning countryside and four well-appointed bedrooms, perfect for families looking to gather in Northumberland. Cross the threshold and head straight into the light and airy open-plan living space to unwind in front of the warming glow of the woodburning stove and Smart TV while the designated chef of the group gets acquainted with the fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy delicious meals around the large dining table or on sunny days step through the sliding patio doors to delight in an alfresco affair while the sun sets over the encompassing countryside. When sleep calls, wash off the day’s adventures in the bathroom before choosing from four sumptuous bedrooms where you can catch your rest; there are two king-sizes with Smart TVs and en-suite shower rooms, a king with Smart TV and a twin. By car, travel into the village of Barrasford to stock up on essentials at the local store or enjoy delicious food at the Barrasford Arms, ideal for the nights when you don’t fancy cooking. The English Heritage site of Hadrian’s wall runs coast to coast for an epic 73 miles, perfect for those looking to amble through the English countryside. Discover a wealth of history along its ruins including the remains of Roman forts and turrets and museums housing artefacts found in the area. Northumberland National Park is easily accessible by car and hosts a myriad of walks and trails, cycling, fishing and horse-riding opportunities perfect for those looking to take in the great outdoors. The city of Newcastle upon Tyne is slightly further afield but provides a vibrant nightlife with a variety of bars and restaurants as well as a multitude of shops and historic sites such as the Great North Museum and the 12th century Newcastle Castle. Adventure and tranquillity await at Clover Cottage.

Near Northumberland National Park, Barrasford is a small village between Hexham and Bellingham on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne. The settlement, which is overshadowed by the magnificent Grade I-listed Haughton Castle, is well-known for being the site of a Bronze Age burial mound where the Reaverhill Dagger was discovered during an excavation in 1964. The Barrasford Arms, a 19th-century pub where you may treat your loved ones to delectable meals, is in the village today along with a shop. The area around the village is rich in history; travel to Hexham, a market town, to see its 12th-century abbey, Hexham Park, and Tyne Green Country Park. Golf enthusiasts may even practise their swings at Tynedale Golf Club, which has a river view. Visitors can see the several historic monuments sprinkled along the famous Hadrian's Wall, which runs close by. These include the Temple of Mithras, Carrawburgh and Housesteads Roman Forts, and Chester’s Roman Fort and Museum. Northumberland National Park, which borders Scotland, is bursting at the seams with a variety of treks and paths that reward visitors with breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside. Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element. Make Barrasford your home base as you travel around Northumberland.

Restrictions on Water heating meant we had to stagger the showers (There was 8 of us staying) I ended up having a couple of cold showers Grass had not been cut for a while so kids could not play any ball games Had to leave the on suite window open due to the smell of the drain Other than that it was a lovely place to stay
