Snaptrip says

Magpie Cottage in Morpeth, Northumberland, is praised for its cleanliness, comfortable setting, and friendly owners. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the property's proximity to local attractions, and the peaceful countryside location. Some guests mention the thoughtful touch of a welcome gift upon arrival. However, there are mentions of low beams in the bathroom and bedroom, and the lack of a dishwasher. The road proximity is noted, with occasional traffic noise.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews consistently mention that the cottage is spotlessly clean, with fresh and well-maintained decor, contributing to a high cleanliness score.

The location is generally praised for its beauty and convenience for exploring Northumberland, though some guests note traffic noise due to proximity to a road, slightly lowering the score.

The cottage is described as comfortable and cosy, with a warm atmosphere. However, the presence of low beams and the impact on taller guests slightly reduces the comfort score.

Facilities are well-regarded, particularly the well-equipped kitchen. However, the absence of a dishwasher and issues with beams in the bathroom affect the score. Parking concerns are also noted.

Guests mention a welcome gift, which is a sign of thoughtfulness from the owners. However, as not all reviews reference this, and to ensure expectations are managed, it is noted that such gestures are not guaranteed.

It is tastefully furnished and decorated, with a well appointed kitchen etc. We really liked being on private land with a dedicated parking spot, and a lovely communal garden with beautiful fruit tree blossom in May. Other reviews had mentioned traffic noise - but we found the lane to be very quiet. A low beam in the bathroom was also mentioned in other reviews, but we found this not to be a problem - at least not for a 3 night stay (how long do you actually spend in the bathroom each day!). The cottage was nicely central to our trips to Lindisfarne and the North York Moors as well as a family function in Ailslaby. The proprietors were welcoming and friendly. We hope to be back.

The grounds are beautiful and the accommodation is of a high standard. There was everything we needed for home from home. Paul and Jane were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be back.

The bathroom washbasin + mirror were very restricted because of the large wooden beam, the double bedroom also had a beam above bed. Beds were uncomfortable however the cottage was heated adequately.
