Snaptrip says

1 Primitive Mews is a well-received cottage in Buxton, praised for its cleanliness, stunning location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs, though these are not guaranteed. The property is ideal for dog owners and offers a relaxing atmosphere with convenient access to local attractions and walks. Some minor issues were noted regarding maintenance and facilities.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, with only a single mention of inadequate washing up by a previous tenant. Cleanliness is consistently highlighted as a positive aspect.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to local pubs, and central position for exploring the Peak District. The village's tranquility and the availability of walking paths directly from the property are also appreciated.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, noting the warm and cosy atmosphere. However, there are mixed reviews about the bed's comfort and the sofa's height, suggesting room for improvement.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the private meadow and the range of videos and games. Some guests suggest updates to the kitchen and bathroom, and there are comments about drafts and heating issues.

The welcome packs are frequently mentioned and appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as not all guests may receive the same items and there are some suggestions for improvement, the score reflects that while the gesture is well-received, it may not meet everyone's expectations.

Cottage well fitted out. Very effective electric radiators unfortunately a gale comes through the letter box making the kitchen very cold. The previous tenant had not washed up properly hence only 4 stars for cleanliness. The Church Inn is easy walking distance, serves good food and is very friendly.

Lounge was comfortable, only thing lacking was a small coffee table, we had to put mugs on floor on coasters which could have lead to accidently spillage. Kitchen was small but facilities in it were satisfactory. Bedroom was large and views from Sunset Window was lovely. Bed was too hard for me but that is just a personal opion and everybody is different. Bathroom was a squeeze. Saying all this it is only a cottage for two people. Cottage was in a good area for walking. We walked straight from the door and called in at the local pub The Church Inn on finishing our walks. As cottage was down hill from the pub it was ideal for rolling down after having had a few. Buxton and Bakewell were close by which was ideal. We would certainly consider coming back.
