Snaptrip says

The Pidgeon Nest is a well-appointed cottage in Axmouth, praised for its stunning location, pet-friendly environment, and proximity to beaches, shops, and local pubs. Guests appreciate the secure garden, the property's charm, and the convenience for coastal walks. Some concerns were raised about heating control and cleanliness, but the overall experience is seen as comfortable and enjoyable, with a welcoming touch of complimentary refreshments.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the cleanliness, noting dog hairs and the need to clean kitchenware upon arrival. However, these seem to be isolated incidents rather than a consistent issue.

The location is highly regarded for its proximity to local amenities, pubs, and scenic walks. The convenience of a bus stop and the charm of the village contribute to its high rating.

The property is generally seen as comfortable, with a spacious garden and well-furnished rooms. However, some guests reported issues with heating and bed comfort, slightly affecting the score.

The house is well-equipped, but some guests encountered minor maintenance issues such as a wobbly frying pan handle and a broken toilet lock. The heating system's remote control was also a point of contention.

Guests were pleased with the thoughtful touches like complimentary refreshments. While these are appreciated, it is noted that such gestures are not guaranteed and may vary.

Lovely house, tastefully furnished. Could do with some attention in places. Location was spot on, great views, walks from the door and between 3 good pubs both serving great food. Walking distance to Seaton but quite a busy road to walk if you have children or a dog. There is a path but it's narrow and the traffic seemed fast. Ride the Seaton tram, it's a fun experience through some beautiful scenery

Great start with milk, tea, coffee and selection of chocolate biscuits left to tempt us. Good location for walking in all directions with foot paths on the door step. Lovely big lawn area for our 3 dogs.Cooking was easy with facilities provide, visited 1 of the 2 very local pubs for a drink, food smelt lovely but ate at property. Found lounge chilly in the evening even with log burning stove. Heating is on a time/temperature control which I understand as property heated with propane which is super expensive. Needed to just wear extra layers.

Overall a lovely stay, comfortable and spacious. Attention lacking in cleanliness to plastic seal on shower screen. Wobbly handle to frying pan, which we fixed. Otherwise well equipped with everything we needed. Large garden ,safe for dogs and children. Unfortunately we had a power cut , 1 to 11 pm. Would recommend you take torches/ lamp . Log burner was great. We called the owner the following day to reset heating and hot water , which he did. Location lovely . Two pubs in village. Could walk into Seaton, although main road busy and path narrow. Parking at house for two cars was difficult. We left one car on the drive and one in front of the gate recess. Would consider staying again .
