Snaptrip says

Glenview is a well-received cottage in Devon, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches like local honey and wine. Its location is ideal for exploring North Devon and enjoying peaceful surroundings. The property is well-equipped, making it a home away from home for many guests who appreciate the attention to detail and often express a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the property's spotless condition upon arrival, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes to the welcoming atmosphere of the cottage.

The cottage's location is frequently highlighted as convenient for exploring North Devon, with its proximity to Lynton, Lynmouth, and local attractions. The peaceful setting by a river valley adds to its charm, although accessibility on foot to nearby towns may be challenging due to the hilly terrain.

Reviewers find the beds and sofas very comfortable, and the provision of fresh linen and a well-equipped kitchen contributes to the overall comfort of their stay. Some guests suggest improvements like different tog duvets for seasons, but these are minor concerns.

The property is praised for being well-equipped with a particular emphasis on the kitchen, which is appreciated by those who enjoy cooking. Some minor feedback includes the need for new baking sheets and comments on the oven, but these do not detract significantly from the overall positive reception of the facilities.

The thoughtful gestures by the hosts, such as providing a welcome pack with local honey and wine, are frequently mentioned and appreciated by guests. It is noted, however, that such gifts, while a delightful surprise, should not be expected with every stay.

About this property

This refurbished detached house is situated in Barbrook above the road which leads to Lynton and Lynmouth. Facing lovely woodland around the River Lyn, it is friendly accommodation for families or adults to explore the area. You can either head up twenty steps from the parking area to your front door or use the level access from the road. Inside, through the hall, you will be greeted by the smart oak-floored sitting room with its French windows opening to a patio. The big kitchen is a lovely place to cook whilst you watch TV and then enjoy meals around the central table. Stairs lead up to the three welcoming bedrooms, one en suite and two with TVs. The lawned garden separates the house from the road, and you also have a big patio to one side for sitting peacefully sheltered by woods and flowers. This is wonderful walking, cycling and mountain biking country, or you can enjoy a ride from the local stables. A path by the river leads to a pub in a mile, or head to Lynton and Lynmouth for pubs and restaurants and a ride on the funicular railway. This is a homely and welcoming house for exploring the area at any time of year.

Set directly on the coast at the foot of the Exmoor hills, this charming village draws visitors from near and far. Quaint Lynmouth sits between the river, shore and hills and offers small restaurants, tea rooms and inns.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. We visited many of our favourite places, Lynmouth, Lynton and Barnstaple and did some lovely walks. We slso had some great meals out and can't wait to come back next year. Thankyou to the owners for our welcome and treats on arrival.

Pity the weather wasn't great to make use of the lovely garden. The wine, milk and honey was very much appreciated, thank you. My only suggestion would be to add a gate to the stairs if dogs are not wanted upstairs, my Shih Tzu is my shadow. Had to put suitcases across so he couldn’t follow me. First time to Devon and can’t wait to go back!
