About this property

Located on the ground floor of an elegant period-style property, the lovely apartment is set a short walk from the sandy beaches of Swanage Bay, promenade, cafes and restaurants. Swanage is home to the Swanage Heritage Railway running from Swanage to Norden via Corfe Castle. Located on the Isle of Purbeck, Swanage is an ideal base from which to explore Dorset’s World Heritage Coast. Take to the water with a spot of sailing or simply sit and relax on the golden sands. When you’ve finished exploring Swanage, visit one of the many nearby points of interest, including the National Trust Corfe Castle (5.5 miles), Durlston Country Park (2.5 miles), and the coastal town of Poole (19.5 miles), which boast Europe's largest natural harbour and offers boat trips to Brownsea Island, home of Boy Scouts and red squirrels. Further west you will discover Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, 18 miles.

Enter via the private entrance directly into the porch which is perfect for those muddy boots and coats. The bright and spacious living room with dual-aspect windows offer space for the whole family to relax with comfortable sofas, a Smart TV, a wood burner-effect electric fire, and a desk for those important emails. The well-equipped kitchen boasts all that you will need to create a hearty breakfast or a delicious evening meal after a day exploring the beautiful area. A side door gives you access to a small rear courtyard. Enjoy a meal in the dining room just off the hallway, with a stunning period fireplace, with a door also leading directly out onto the rear courtyard. The main bedroom has a double bed with a large window overlooking the front, and bedroom two offers a twin room. A charming family bathroom completes the property.

The enclosed rear courtyard is small but perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or a cool afternoon drink of choice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chabar, the accommodation was spacious and comfortable and only a 5 minute walk to the beach at Swanage. It was in a quiet location and we would stay there again. We enjoyed the carrot cake and our dogs loved the treats left for them!!

The cottage was perfect for us as it was two minutes from our friend's home. The lounge was comfortable, nicely furnished and cosy. We did not require both bedrooms but the double bed was very comfortable and the main bedroom spacious. There was quite a lot of noise from footsteps from the flat above early in the morning and late afternoon but we were out most of the time so it did not bother us. The little yard was excellent for our dog as it was secure.

Once the heating had taken the chill off the cottage, it was entirely comfortable. We were surprised at its size, usually pictures make places look bigger, the ones in the ad did not do justice to the scale of the place. Parking, the markings were invisible on arriving at night, perhaps a little reflective plaque on the wall could be fitted?
