This charming, stone-built, Victorian, back-to-back terraced cottage is situated just a five-minute walk from the famous cobbled main street of Haworth, in the heart of Brontë Country. Fully renovated by the current owners, who have produced a first-class holiday home, restoring much of the original character and many of the original features, Rose Cottage is a perfect retreat for couples wanting to get away from it all. From the moment guests arrive they will be impressed with the character and charm of this period cottage, featuring a spacious ground-floor sitting room with original Yorkshire stone flags, pitch pine fittings and a stone fireplace with warm and cosy woodburning stove. For music lovers, the owners have provided a piano and other instruments; artists will find art materials in the cottage and classes are available. The kitchen/diner comprises modern fittings with a beautiful corian worktop, stone flagged floor and a small dining area. The bathroom is stylish and contains a free-standing cast iron bath, perfect after a day out on the nearby fells, a lovely piece of the owner’s artwork and a stylish fitted washbasin in a pine surround. The main upstairs bedroom is spacious and features an old fire surround and great views across the old town towards the surrounding countryside. In the summer, the small garden is a lovely place to sit and relax with lunch, or a glass of wine. The overall styling, the link to its long history and the immense character and charm will make guests wish to return again and again to this delightful cottage. The town of Haworth itself is sure to keep you busy; with the world-famous Brontë Parsonage Museum and walks to the moorland setting of ‘Wuthering Heights’. There are plenty of shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as cobbled streets and alleyways to explore, or why not take a trip on the famous Worth Valley railway. Further afield, you can easily visit Skipton, venture into the Dales, or spend the day in Harrogate, and enjoy a spot of afternoon tea at the famous Bettys. A fabulous holiday home in a popular destination for people of all ages!
The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

The bath is wonderful and we loved our stay. The bed is a tad uncomfortable though - wooden slatted bases tend to press on areas of the body. Apart from that it was simply gorgeous. Thank you.
