Willow Cottage receives high praise for its cosy atmosphere, comfortable amenities, and the warm hospitality of hosts Karen and Shaun. Guests consistently mention the well-stocked kitchen, powerful shower, and the luxury of a private hot tub. The property's location is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire coast and enjoying the tranquillity of the countryside. While Wi-Fi connectivity is noted as an area for improvement, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment, with many guests planning return visits.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests frequently describe the cottage as spotless and very clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness maintained by the hosts.

The property's location is praised for its quietness and proximity to local beaches and towns, making it an excellent base for exploring the area.

Reviews often highlight the comfortable bed, cosy wood burner, and the relaxing hot tub, suggesting a high level of comfort provided by the cottage.

While the reviews are positive about the facilities, including the well-equipped kitchen and the hot tub, there is a mention of Wi-Fi connectivity issues and one instance of maintenance work during a stay, which prevents a perfect score. Due to the lack of consistent negative feedback on maintenance, a precise score cannot be determined.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the welcome pack, fresh eggs, and bathrobes. It should be noted that such personal touches, while common, are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

About this property

Skipsea 1 mile. This attractive, single-storey barn conversion adjoins the owner's property on the edge of the small village of Ulrome, one mile from the coastal village of Skipsea. With all ground floor accommodation, it provides a lovely romantic retreat for couples wanting to explore the coastline, discover the Wolds and spend time visiting the large seaside resorts of Bridlington, Hornsea and Scarborough. Offering a bright and cheerful open plan living area with exposed timbers, there is a well-equipped modern kitchen, a dining table and comfortable seating set around a cosy woodburner. Furnished to a high standard throughout, the pretty bedroom leads off from the sitting area and the fully-tiled shower room has a large overhead shower. To the rear, there is an enclosed and sheltered patio complete with its own private bubbling hot tub; a superb way to relax and unwind with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down! Guests also have access to one acre of fields, with a pond and seating. The surrounding area is ideal cycling country, with country lanes and trails to follow, while walkers will delight in the gently rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. Nearby, Skipsea caters for everyday needs and has access to the coast and beach, whilst the traditional seaside town of Hornsea lies just seven miles away. It offers a fine promenade, ornamental gardens and Hornsea Mere, the largest glacial lake in Yorkshire, where one can partake in watersports, fishing and boating. It is an easy drive to the stately homes of Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall and Burton Constable Hall, all worth visiting and a must is a day trip to the beautiful historic City of York. A delightful and stylish property to come home to after a busy day.

The village of Skipsea is situated in the Yorkshire Wolds, in a typically rural setting surrounded by rich, agricultural land, yet Skipsea also sits within one mile of the beach and is close to the cliffs of the North Sea.
