Snaptrip says

Locks Cottage in Settle is highly praised for its picturesque setting, cosy atmosphere, and convenient location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, the beautiful garden with wildlife, and the homely touches such as a welcoming coal fire and Christmas decorations. While some minor issues with parking and self-catering facilities were mentioned, the overall sentiment is one of satisfaction and a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, contributing to a warm and inviting atmosphere. However, one review mentioned a smell of cigarettes, which slightly impacts the overall cleanliness score.

The location is consistently lauded for its tranquillity, proximity to local walks, and the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. The garden's views and the nearby wildlife are particular highlights, making the location ideal for a peaceful retreat.

Guests frequently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and larger than expected, with a warm coal fire and comfortable beds. The overall comfort of the cottage is highly regarded, with only minor concerns about parking affecting the ease of stay.

While the cottage is generally seen as well-equipped and homely, there are some criticisms regarding the self-catering facilities and the lack of basic supplies like hand soap and spices. Issues with the fridge and microwave also suggest room for improvement in this category.

Several reviews mention thoughtful touches such as a Christmas tree and a burning coal fire upon arrival, which guests found delightful. However, as these gifts are not consistently referenced across all reviews, it cannot be guaranteed that such gestures are a standard practice for every stay.

Highly recommend this location. Cottage was lovely and cosy. Lovely coal fire, great facilities, spacious and it was great to have access to a washing machine, fridge and there was milk in the fridge. Beds are comfy and it was great to have brilliant broadband. Easy to find and breath taking views from the windows. I would definitely book again.

Very clean comfortable and homely cottage with everything we needed. Location is excellent with several nice walks from the doorstep. Back porch area is good for coming in with muddy boots and lovely open fire for the evening. Icing on the cake was watching the mandarin ducks from the bedroom window! Would definitely come again.

We especially appreciated the cosy atmosphere when we arrived back at the cottage which warmed up very quickly. We would have appreciated a folder containing more information about rubbish collection, linen etc at the end of our stay. A few proper wine glasses would be appreciated also.
