About this property

This fabulous cottage lies just outside the village of Husthwaite, which sits on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, overlooking the Vale of York. Perfectly suited for couples or a small family, The Hayloft is wonderfully decorated, with a modern interior and attractive features which create a real home-away-from-home feel throughout. Upon entering, you will be welcomed by an open-plan living area, nicely styled with comfortable seating and a wall-mounted TV. There is a charming dining table, perfect for breakfast or dinner with your loved ones, backed by an L shaped kitchen with an oak finish. The ground floor is also home to an all-white classic shower room and a single bedroom complete with a dressing table. A beautiful aspect of the cottage is the mezzanine bedroom, a double room tucked away beneath low ceilings, with exposed beams and Velux windows which look out towards the lovely grounds. An armchair rests to the side of the layout, should you wish to take a moment to admire the stunning arrangement, overseeing the downstairs and its contemporary down-lighting. For more quiet time, the patio area outside is a peaceful place to relax, ideal for a well-earned rest after an adventure-filled afternoon. Husthwaite is a charming village to base your cottage holiday, offering a pub/restaurant. From here, you can either venture through the breath-taking Howardian Hills, which lies adjacent to Husthwaite, or you can discover the charming nearby towns and cities with their interesting buildings and fine range of amenities, including the instantly recognisable, ancient city of York. All you need for a memorable getaway.

The village of Husthwaite is a perfect introduction to "Herriot Country", with an old Norman church, many fine old houses and an active village hall hosting many events throughout the year. The nearby White Horse of Kilburn is a prominent local landmark. The market town of Easingwold is nearby, boasting a market square and a selection of shops, pubs and cafes.

It was a trip where we could take my Mum a year after the passing of Dad to take her mind off things. The hosts full of knowledge and it was the little things they did which made the stay great.
