Snaptrip says

Hazeldene is a well-received holiday cottage in Whitby, praised for its spaciousness, comfort, and location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and tasteful decor. The property is ideal for large groups and families, offering a convenient base for exploring the coast and North York Moors. Minor issues mentioned do not detract from the overall positive experience, and the property's charm, including proximity to steam trains and local amenities, adds to its appeal.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, with many reviews highlighting the tidiness and well-kept nature of the house. One mention of a blocked basin and slow-draining shower suggests room for improvement, but these are isolated comments within an otherwise exemplary record.

The location is frequently praised for its good access to both the coast and North York Moors, with convenient local amenities and enjoyable walks. The proximity to the railway with steam trains is seen as a charming feature, although the mention of a steep hill to nearby shops is noted.

Comfort is a strong point for Hazeldene, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the house spacious. Suggestions for additional lighting and larger beds indicate slight room for enhancement, but overall, the property provides a comfortable stay.

The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, which is often highlighted. However, guests have suggested the addition of oven gloves and a reading lamp, and there are comments about the need for a second shower unit and a larger or additional fridge, indicating some areas for improvement.

While guests are delighted with the welcome pack, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of thoughtfulness across all stays. Therefore, while the welcome pack is a nice touch, it should not be expected with every visit.

We had everything we needed and the owner kindly posted a small item we had left behind.

We were contacted the day before our arrival saying the house would be ready a couple of hours early and we really appreciated the tasty welcome pack. There was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was great for cooking our Christmas dinner. Sleights is a lovely little village and Whitby is always a great place to visit. We enjoyed walking from the house and another time will take the train into Whitby.
