Snaptrip says

11A Church Street in Whitby offers a well-situated holiday cottage with easy access to the town centre and local amenities. Guests appreciate the property's location and the spaciousness for large groups or families. While some guests have had positive experiences with clean bedding and towels, others have noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance that need addressing.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Several reviews mention a lack of thorough cleaning, with reports of dust, dirt, and a general need for a deep clean. However, clean bedding and towels were also noted, indicating inconsistency in cleanliness standards.

The property's location is frequently praised for being close to the town centre and within walking distance of Whitby's attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Comfort receives mixed reviews; some guests found the beds uncomfortable and the steep stairs challenging, while others were satisfied with the comfort provided. The steepness of the stairs is a recurring point of concern.

Facilities and maintenance issues are a common theme, with reports of broken windows, mould, non-working radiators, and a lack of instructions for appliances. Some guests also encountered problems with the showers and windows not opening, which are significant safety concerns.

There is no consistent mention of gifts or extra touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner. While a welcome tea and coffee package is appreciated, it is not clear if this is a standard offering for all guests.

Note - the property description states there are two twin rooms, but there is only one.

Cracked Windows, exposed stair grippers which cut feet, no laundry bags even though requested to put laundry in them. Beds old and uncomfortable, stair hand railed coming away from walls, radiators not working, no instructions how to use boiler or hob or anything else for that matter, coffee stains on walls, smoke alarm in kitchen constantly activated. Very poor response to complaints, no contact available with caretaker or owner agents.

The stairs in the house are very steep but not a problem as long as you don’t forget anything. The house did not look like it had been cleaned properly recently, there were bits on the stairs carpets sweet wrappers under beds etc. However the bedding and towels were clean. We all had a fantastic weekend!
