Its proximity to York and local amenities, including a community shop and train links, is highly valued. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as welcome hampers and festive decorations. While there are minor mentions of a cold bathroom and a need for more thorough checks, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many guests recommending the property and expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests frequently commend the cottage for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews highlighting the property's tidiness and well-presented rooms. One isolated incident of overlooked dirty underwear suggests room for improvement in checks between stays.

The location is celebrated for its convenience to York via train and its suitability as a base for exploring Yorkshire. The quiet village setting with nearby amenities is also appreciated, although the proximity to community activities is noted.

The cottage is described as cosy, comfortable, and well-furnished, with special mentions of good beds and a homely feel. However, one comment about the living space being tight for five people suggests that comfort may be optimal for smaller groups.

The thoughtful gestures, such as welcome hampers and Christmas decorations, are frequently mentioned and appreciated by guests. It should be noted that while these gifts are warmly received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

The property was comfortable and had a lot of amenities. The only negative comment I would feedback, was dirty underwear underneath the back bedroom bed. This is a shame as everything else was very good. This could have been solved with more thorough checks upon guests leaving and new ones arriving

A coffee table or something to put drinks on in the lounge rather than having to use the dining table. Apart from that the cottage is great and in a beautiful village with great access to the local area. Definitely use again.
