Snaptrip says

Wayside Cottage is highly praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and the delightful hot tub. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings and the property's peaceful setting, despite some noting its proximity to a main road. The cottage's location is convenient for exploring Yorkshire, with a welcoming pub nearby. The host, Mike, receives commendations for his hospitality and thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as spotless and well-maintained. One review noted a musty smell from the sofas, but this appears to be an isolated comment amidst overall positive feedback.

The location is generally well-received for its privacy and central position for visiting nearby attractions. Some guests mention the convenience of a nearby pub and the ease of exploring Yorkshire. However, a few guests noted the proximity to a main road and the need for a car to access local amenities.

The comfort of Wayside Cottage is often highlighted, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the living spaces cosy. The spaciousness of the rooms contributes to the overall comfort level, although there is a single mention of a problematic door handle.

Facilities like the hot tub, well-equipped kitchen, and smart TVs are frequently praised. The presence of a dryer and ample towels are appreciated. Some guests suggest improvements such as additional outdoor lighting and kitchen utensils, but these are minor compared to the overall positive experiences.

While many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful welcome gifts provided by the host, such as milk and cakes, there is not enough information to guarantee that these gifts are a standard offering for all stays. Therefore, while guests may be pleasantly surprised by such gestures, they should not be expected on every visit.

We wanted to get the family together for a relaxing holiday and some sightseeing and Wayside ticked all the boxes. It’s spacious and has the added bonus of a ground floor bedroom with bathroom next to it so was ideal for my daughter, son in law and their 3 year old. The Hot tub was used every evening by three of our group and was definitely a hit and the towels a nice touch. It’s all in the description and it didn’t disappoint. Even the sideboard drawer in the dining room had a nice selection of leaflets / things to do etc. Finally a big thank you to the owner for spotting the set of keys that got left behind and forwarding them on. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing value for money. Always spotless, plenty of towels and linen. Love the hot tub. Location is perfect too. Definitely recommend.

Slightly quirky layout, the main bedroom is not the room with the en-suite, but all rooms were large and it was great to see the hot tub, warmed up ready for us when we arrived.
