Pitmedden is a little village in Aberdeenshire's Udny parish, and it's an excellent place to start exploring the region because of its proximity to the countryside and the fact that it's just about seven miles from the shore at Newburgh. In addition to a café, small store, tavern, and takeout spot, the village also has everything else you need for a self-catered stay. The Pitmedden Garden, maintained by the National Trust for Scotland, is the town's most famous landmark. It features five miles of perfect boxwood hedges planted in creative patterns, as well as 80 different species of apple trees and stunning fountains. While just twenty miles away you can visit the enchanted castle of Fyvie Castle, another National Trust for Scotland site, where you can have a tour of the sumptuous rooms and hear of the folklore and even ghost stories that continue on today at the Museum of Farming Life. Nearby, in the old village of Tarves, which was probably established about the year 600 AD, you'll find a typical butcher shop where you can stock up on fresh, regional meats for your self-catered meals. The Newburgh Seal Beach and the Foveran Links Nature Reserve and Golf Course are worth the trip outside of town. Take a great holiday to the picturesque Pitmedden.

Furnishings top quality and everything you could possibly need was provided. Nice secluded garden with outside seating and hot tub. We booked it for a family break to celebrate our golden wedding, our grandchildren loved it. Would have no hesitation about recommending to friends.Owner was nice, came and spoke before we left. Hopefully we will get back for another wee break.

Everything was perfect with luxurious fittings and furnishings and perfect to relax in after a days travelling. With 2 smart tv's everyone was catered for. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. This was a perfect relaxing holiday accommodation - could not be improved on - if only more were as good as this.

The children enjoyed the games in the garage and the hot tub. We were impressed that the washer was already preloaded with liquid and fabric conditioner. The house was lovely and warm so we didn't use the log burner. Having the two lounges meant there was some quiet space when the children were being children. Overall a great place for a week with the family. Thank you.
