Stunning views across the harbour greet you as you relax over breakfast and plan your day. Stroll round the harbour and take in the visitor centre, or have a meal in the Steam Packet Inn just yards from your front door. Although it is no longer an island, the village of Isle of Whithorn still retains the name as a link to its historic past. The village lies by the harbour on the southern tip of the Machars Peninsula, and the area has been designated as an outstanding conservation area. This region is steeped in ancient and modern history and there are countless sites of historical interest to visit, from Iron Age and Mesolithic Forts to standing stones.
