The well-equipped kitchen, cosy wood burning stove, and ample lounges add to the comfort. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is very positive.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as clean and well maintained, with several reviews highlighting its cleanliness, which suggests a high standard.

The location is frequently praised for being peaceful yet conveniently close to town, with easy access to local attractions and walks, indicating an excellent location.

Comfort is well-regarded with mentions of comfortable beds and large rooms, although one comment about light penetration in a bedroom suggests a slight room for improvement.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the kitchen and entertainment options. However, the need for better kitchen utensils and bathroom upgrades prevents a higher score.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the owner, so it is not possible to assess this category.

Super holiday home for families and large groups, the house is in a quiet location but still conveniently situated close to the heart of the Artists' Town of Kirkcudbright.

The house has a lovely terraced garden to the rear with large seating area including gas BBQ, which is ideal in the summer sunshine; while from the front of the house there is a small private patio with views out over the town to the hills and glimpses of the Dee Estuary, with it's busy harbour providing an ever changing scene of both working fishing boats and leisure craft.

Arakhova was comfortable for our family group. We chose it because it was easy walking distance to the town and to the local campsite where other family members were staying. The location worked well for us as we could also do some lovely walks directly from the house. There were 8 of us staying, all adults so for some people the fact that the second bathroom was one of the en-suites might be an issue. The curtains/blinds in the downstairs double let the light in so for a light sleeper I would recommend eye shades (there's a streetlight outside that window). The house felt spacious and we enjoyed the games that were there. Great to have the washing machine and dryer after a couple of the walks. Thank you

Large clean house in a lovely location on edge of town, but still in easy walking distance. Well equipped kitchen, large range of books, games and DVDs.

There was ten of us and we had a great time. House is lovely and Kirkcudbright a dream. Brilliant coastal paths, National Parks, and Wigtown is close, too. The house inside is nice and the layout is good. The downstairs bath needs a little tlc and the kitchen lacks a few utensils like sharp knifes. Wood burning stove a great extra, and contact to owner very friendly. Would come again!
