About this property

Ty Den is a beautifully renovated, detached barn conversion situated a little off the beaten track, surrounded by hills and rolling countryside in the village of Deiniolen in North Wales. Its location affords you easy access to the Snowdonia National Park and the coast as well, so you could have a day at the beach one day and a trek up a mountain the next, the choice is yours! Situated on the owner's small-holding with horses and chickens, you are sure to receive a warm welcome. Offering well-presented accommodation over the ground-floor, with excellent links to all that Eryri (Snowdonia) has to offer, Ty Den is a wonderful base for families, friends and couples looking to escape to and explore this stunning region of North Wales. Discover the open-plan living space, offering a light and airy feel, hosting a kitchen with all the mod cons needed for a short stay, along with a dining area for enjoying mealtimes together. Afterwards, collapse on the sofa in front of the Smart TV and catch up on your favourite shows, or take the evening outside and enjoy a moment on the picnic bench; there’s even a barbecue if you fancy a grilled dinner! As the night grows darker, find two neatly presented bedrooms, including a super-king-size with zip/link beds and a Smart TV, along with a twin with Smart TV, each neutrally presented. The village of Deiniolen offers a village pub and shop so you won’t be short of the essentials, while the larger town of Llanberis lies just four miles away boasting many tourist attractions that you will have to include in your trip like catching the train up the highest mountain in England and Wales, or visit the spectacular twin lakes of Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, creating the Llanberis Pass that cuts through the magnificent mountain range and creating a perfect sight-seeing opportunity. Llyn Padarn is the perfect place for a spot of paddle boarding too! Lace up your walking boots and you can tackle either the Pilgrim Walk from your front door or explore the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, boasting glorious mountain walks, cycling routes and endless activities like Zip World, with sites at nearby Penrhyn Quarry. You may also visit the village of Betws-y-coed, where you can eat locally sourced and award-winning food and drink in the diverse range of eateries, as well as browse independent shops retailing in crafts, clothing, and gifts. Expect all this and more at Ty Den, the perfect holiday base anytime of the year.

The village of Deiniolen, housing a village pub and shop, is 4 miles north of Llanberis, on the border of the Snowdonia National Park, making it an ideal base to explore the National Park. The Llanberis Railway runs nearby along the banks of Lake Padarn, whilst the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle are 2 miles away, or visit Ceunant Mawr, a cascading waterfall just outside Llanberis. Local walks lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir on the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Llanberis is 4 miles away and is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a “mecca” for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. On the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd.

Property is lovely and modern. Owner Vernon very friendly and knows this corner of Wales well and recommended nice places in the area to visit. I'm sure we'll be back

The location is superb and had amazing views straight out of the front door up into Snowdonia in one direction and out over the Menai Straights in the other. Vernon (the owner) was so friendly and welcoming, and even gave us a load of local knowledge including where to go to get some great views and scenery. It only takes about 20mins to get into the mountains and the same to get into Bangor or Caernarfon. The property was modern (very recently renovated) and super clean. The kitchen was really well stocked with everything you needed to cook and clean up after. The beds were comfy and the shower was excellent. You could literally turn up with some food, clothes, and toiletries and have everything you need for a visit! Thank you Vernon for letting us stay in the lovely Ty Den. We will certainly be back again in the future, and highly recommend it for anyone visiting North Wales.
