Snaptrip says

Guests consistently praise the holiday rental for its welcoming hosts, who often greet visitors with homemade Bara Brith. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey, with its convenient location being a highlight. Comfort and cleanliness are well-regarded, though some guests noted minor issues with facilities. Overall, the property offers a pleasant stay with thoughtful touches.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews generally indicate a high level of cleanliness, with guests satisfied with the tidiness of the property. One mention of dust in extractor fans suggests room for improvement, but overall, the property is well-maintained.

The property's location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions, including Snowdonia, Anglesey, and various Zip World Adventures. Its central position in North Wales makes it an ideal spot for exploring the region.

Guests find the accommodation comfortable, with special mentions of a comfy bed and a warm welcome. However, some guests noted the lack of certain amenities like coat hangers and a breakfast bar not suitable for older guests, which suggests that comfort could be further enhanced.

Facilities are generally good, with everything needed for a stay. Criticisms include the absence of a place to hang coats, no airer for wet clothes, and a suggestion for deeper bowls. One guest mentioned the lack of a shower seat in the wet room, which could be an issue for those with mobility needs.

The hosts are frequently mentioned for their thoughtfulness, particularly for the homemade Bara Brith. However, as gifts are not guaranteed and there is no consistent mention of other thoughtful gestures, a score cannot be accurately provided.

About this property

Tryfan is a cosy, studio-style apartment, with a welcoming open plan living area, including a kitchenette with breakfast bar and combination oven and microwave and a comfy sitting room. The bedroom is separated from the living room by a central wall and the bed is accessed through two open doorways to either side. The bathroom has been designed with a wet room floor and double doors into it giving plenty of space to shower in comfort. Outside a communal gravel courtyard offers off road parking and a private table and chairs for you to use, perhaps enjoying a good book and glass of wine whilst taking in the sounds of the countryside. A lovely holiday apartment to use as a base for walking and exploring, all year long. Note: This apartment can be booked with Ref 931576 next door, together they sleep 4.

Bangor is a university town on the North Wales coast with a large range of shops, bars and restaurants. It is the main crossing point for the Isle of Anglesey with two road bridges across the Menai Strait. Across the water, the castle and pier at Beaumaris make a lovely day out, or you can catch a boat to enjoy a trip out to Puffin Island. The Anglesey Coastal Path takes in beautiful scenery, and the island is home to many fine beaches including Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Red Wharf Bay.

But was disappointed, after a long drive, not to find a pint of milk, or a few tea bags.

The cottage was located very centrally for all attractions in the area. We got on extremely well with Ian. The cottage was comfortable and we really appreciated the bara brith. Our only concern....there was no balsamic vinegar. (If you know, you know)

  • Lesley

Loved the Bara Brith and the friendly welcome. We would visit again.
