Guests have had a delightful experience at Bywyd Da, praising its beautiful decor, cleanliness, and prime location close to the beach and town. The property's open-plan living space and comfortable beds are highlights, contributing to a cosy and enjoyable stay. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The property is consistently described as spotless and clean, with only one mention of a concern that was quickly alleviated upon arrival. This indicates a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.

The location is frequently commended for its convenience, being a short walk to both the centre of Abersoch and the beach. The ease of access to local amenities contributes to the property's appeal.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the living space cosy. However, there are comments about the warmth of the quilt and the condition of the mattresses, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and guests are pleased with the facilities. However, points are deducted for maintenance issues such as non-stick pans' condition, a small shower, and a non-working garage light.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to assess this category accurately. Therefore, the score is set to null.

Bywyd Da, Welsh for ‘Good Life’, is an excellent, semi-detached holiday home situated in Abersoch. Resting in the peaceful Cae Du estate, lying a short distance from Abersoch’s High Street and beaches, Bywyd Da is a fantastic base for a family or group of eight’s coastal holiday. After parking in the ample off-road spaces for three cars, head inside to find two stylish ground-floor king-size rooms, one featuring warm tones and coastal finishes, and the other sporting a spacious interior; both rooms boast plenty of storage for your things. The ground-floor bedrooms share a sleek shower room, a space showcasing contemporary tiling and a spacious walk-in shower. Climb the stairs to discover a stunning open-plan living space, a room showcasing rustic, exposed beams that complement the contemporary fittings. Ascend the stairs again to come across two more bedrooms, the first one being a double with calming blues and greens throughout, and a lovely twin room that is superb for the kids; both rooms feature skylights and enjoy shared access to a brilliant bathroom that showcases bath and illuminated mirror, so you can get ready in style. The rear garden is a marvel that has been created with tranquillity in mind; not only does it feature manicured landscaped but contains sun loungers and outdoor seating for you to take advantage of. Meander into the village and grab your essentials from the amply-equipped SPAR, before savouring a local ale from The Vaynol, and venturing down to the fabulous beaches surrounding the village; the golf club also isn’t fair, why not stop for a game? Spend the day in Llanbedrog, where you can pay the impressive art gallery & café of Plas Glyn y Weddw a visit and enjoy a movie at the open-air cinema during the summer months; the village is also home to a range of eateries and a popular beach that is waiting to be explored. Crockery, cutlery and equipment was very well provided although I was disappointed with the condition of the non stick frying pans and baking dishes. I suspect that they had been previously ill treated but I was put off from using them. I couldn’t find a potato peeler! There is no heating on the upper floor but although the weather was cold and wet we were never cold. However, it was not easy to dry towels as there is no heated towel rail. We made a makeshift rack in the airing cupboard using the loose rails that were there! The bed on the top floor was a bit strange as it had two mattresses which kept sliding. We also found the 15 Tog quilt very warm. I think people need to be aware that the ceiling in this room slopes rather a lot on one side of the bed. I am only 5ft 1 inch tall but had to bend over almost double to get into bed or get clothing from the bedside drawers and this problem was exacerbated by the thickness of the mattress. We think an extractor in the bathroom on the upper floor would be really good. Freeing up a cupboard in the kitchen for dry food would be a good idea. Perhaps glasses could be stored in the bookcase/cupboard in the dining area. The fire extinguisher and blanket should really be fixed to the wall for easy access in the event of a fire. Despite my comments above, we did enjoy our stay at the property and would definitely consider staying again when visiting relatives. It is conveniently situated for walking into Abersoch. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side to do that.
