What’s on in June?
Summer is finally showing its face, and June is a brilliant time to get away. Explore a new corner of the UK, enjoy the warmer weather and long summer evenings. With exams in full swing and the school holidays still a few weeks away, this month is perfect for anyone looking for a slightly quieter summer break. So, you may ask, whats on in June? Up and down the UK there will be a grand variety of events taking places. With dozens of festivals and events for all interests, it has been hard to pick the best ones. However, here’s a selection of our favourite events taking place this June.
Garden Festival, Wells
If you needed an excuse to stroll around beautiful gardens on a sunny June day, then this event is the one for you. The Garden Festival takes place in Wells from 22nd – 24th June and takes place in the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens. This impressive spot has been featured on Gardener’s World and will have entertainment, refreshments and demonstrations.
Flavour Fest, Plymouth
For a fantastic array of food, head to Plymouth for the Flavour Fest. Taking place from 1st – 3rd June, a weekend here will be a treat for your taste buds. As well as showcasing some of the best produce from around the South West, this festival will have cooking demonstrations, children’s workshops and almost 100 stalls.
Classic Vehicle Day at GWSR, Toddington
For a day of classic card, motorbikes, busses and more, head over to Toddington Station on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway. Taking place on the 17th June, the Classic Vehicle Day is a great day out for classic car enthusiasts. If you travel via the railway the event is free, otherwise it’s just £3.
Rosedale Walking Festival, North York Moors
For some fantastic walking in good company, join in with the Rosedale Walking Festival taking place in the North York Moors. Taking place from 23rd – 24th June, this festival offers a weekend of varied walks. There will be themed walks, and the chance to try nordic walking too. You can book a place or turn up on the day, but numbers are limited.
Glasgow International Jazz Festival, Scotland
If you would prefer some musical entertainment, visit Glasgow from 20th – 24th June. The Glasgow International Jazz Festival brings together a wealth of brilliant Jazz musicians who perform across the city. You will need a ticket for some events, but others are free.
