Norfolk House is a beautifully styled, turn of the century, detached home, sitting right in the heart of the coastal village of Heacham. This romantic hideaway offers the convenience of excellent local facilities within easy reach, including both of Heacham's beaches, the village pubs, world-renowned birding locations, cafes, supermarkets, and many other coastal and inland attractions. Under the ownership of the same family for many generations, Norfolk House has had several reincarnations - once upon a time a popular greengrocers, and latterly a renowned hardware-come-lifestyle store which turned into a much-loved 'destination' for the folk of Norfolk.
Using their experience and skills at designing interiors, the family have now transformed this home into a superbly comfortable and elegant holiday hideaway, that exudes a touch of grown-up sophistication. A spacious house, this lovely property is certainly a relaxing place to be and makes a characterful and romantic retreat for two, at any time of the year. With a choice of two sitting areas, one to the front of the house and another to the rear, you will easily find a peaceful spot to curl up together. On chiller evenings, light the open fire and relax as the flames flicker and crackle. The open-plan living/sitting area and dining area is a lovely daytime space with french doors that can be opened up to the courtyard garden. Perfect for allowing the fresh coastal air to breeze through on warm sunny days.
On the first floor, the king-size master bedroom is approached from a spacious landing area and benefits from a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a fabulous roll top bath for the ultimate indulgent soak after a busy day out exploring under Norfolk's renowned big blue skies. If you prefer to shower, there is a separate shower room on this floor too.
Outside, to the back of the house, there is an enclosed, south-east facing courtyard garden; the perfect option for daytime and evening outdoor dining when the climate allows, as well as chilling out and catching the sun on a summer's day. Norfolk House offers parking for two cars on the driveway.
Heacham has many footpaths to discover, and a great beach side promenade that stretches all the way to the iconic carrstone cliffs of neighbouring Hunstanton. Bird watchers will be in seventh heaven with rspb Snettisham close by. If visiting historic houses is your thing, HM the King's Sandringham Estate is only a short drive away. Look out for popular Bordoli's pizza truck that visits the village on a Wednesday evening, and be sure to sample the gooiest of treats from Breakfast and Brownies on the high street. There is also a great antiques shop and cafe to be found next to the Tesco Express. For a larger supermarket, Lidl is located on on the road to Snettisham, and there is a big Tescos in Hunstanton, which also has EV chargers in the car park and a fuel station. For a special culinary experience, head inland to the village of Docking to sample the delights of the Nest Farmhouse, run by a Michelin star award winning team, or head further along the coast from Heacham to Old Hunstanton to find Michelin restaurant, The Neptune. Heacham is an excellent base for discovering all of the treasures to be found in North West Norfolk, as well as further afield.

We returned yesterday from our stay at Norfolk House in Heacham and I would like to say that it was one of the best places we have stayed at. The property was very well maintained and very clean (credit to both the owner and cleaning team). The kitchen was excellently equipped and the welcome pack was a very nice thought. Both my wife and sister-in-law couldn't speak more highly of the property. We are definitely thinking of returning to the area for our next break.

Great house and hosts, would stay again! We stayed with two small children and they provided everything we needed including travel cot, stair gate, high chair, step, toilet seat, baby bath and more. House was a good location for us as we could walk to everything we needed including shops, takeaways, pubs, beach, amusements, park, duck pond etc. House was well equipped with everything we needed and was lovely and clean. Hosts and the management company were all very lovely and helped us without a problem.
