Guests say

The Farmhouse in Bakewell offers a cosy and characterful stay with a well-equipped kitchen, and the added delights of a swimming pool and games room. Guests appreciate the property's charm, the extra touches provided, and its beautiful location. While some cleanliness and maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is enjoyed by families and pet owners alike.

Guests have reported the property to be generally clean, particularly noting the bathrooms and kitchen. However, several reviews mention the presence of dust, cobwebs, and a need for a deeper clean, which suggests room for improvement.

The property is praised for its picturesque location in the Peak District, with easy access to walks and the beauty of the surrounding hills. The proximity of the pool is a pleasant surprise, although some guests had difficulty finding the property due to inaccurate directions.

The beds are described as very good and the house as cosy, but some guests experienced issues with heating and outdated bedroom furniture, which affected the overall comfort level.

The swimming pool and games room are highlights, but guests have noted that some facilities, such as the microwave and furniture, need updating or replacing. The lack of a private garden and a washing machine within the property are also mentioned.

Guests have expressed appreciation for the thoughtful extras provided, such as dishwasher tablets and coffee pods. While these are well-received, it is important to note that such amenities may vary and are not guaranteed.

The cottage was lovely - comfortable, big enough for 10 afults and spotless. The swimming pool was a great bonus too!

We were 3 family groups ranging from 2-73 years and everyone had a fantastic time. The Farmhouse was well equipped with everything you could need including extras such as dish cloths, tea towels, washing up liquid and hand wash in the bathrooms that some places do not bother to provide. The facilities such as the pool and games room and the outdoor spaces were excellent and the location was ideal for a rural stay with all the beauty of the Peak District on the doorstep. The Farmhouse is a characterful old building with some steps between rooms and care should be taken accordingly. We would certainly like to stay here again.

It is a lovely house with shared swimming pool etc. Ideal for a large family with dogs. Bathrooms and kitchen are good and clean. Located in the picturesque hills. It is let down by a number of items. The dirrections take you to the wrong place, a 40 minute find in daylight. The postcode is for a similar named property that has actually invested in a sign to re-direct guests etc. There is no PRIVATE garden. There are 2 dishwashers, nice for 10, but no washing machine except a shared facility requiring cash.
