Granary Cottage is a stone built 18th century Peak District cottage. Recently renovated to a superb standard the cottage retains original features ? oak beams and an exposed stone wall together with quality furnishings and super decoration to create a wonderful holiday retreat. Situated in the midst of picturesque Gt. Longstone it's just a short stroll to a choice of two local country pubs.

Many guests love to explore the lanes and trails around the village. But nearby Water- cum - Jolly Dale beckons with its peaceful riverside walk, the Monsal Trail is great for cycling, there is many a picnic to be had exploring Dovedale, while walking on the edge of the world on Calver Edge is our particular favourite.

Chatsworth is a must on everyone's 'to do' list but you might also fancy historic Haddon Hall, Peak Rail's steam trains and Castleton's Blue John Caverns. If you are not too tired at the end of the day what about a visit to Matlock Bath's illuminations, a show in Buxton's Opera House or just a meal in the White Lion or Crispin pubsinvillage where you are assured of a great welcome. There is a well stocked local shop if you decide to relax and dine in.

Cottage facilities:

A very attractive open plan lounge and dining area with comfortable suite, oak table and chairs, T.V., DVD, Freeview, WiFi. and log effect gas stove. A superb under floor heated kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and automatic washer. A narrow spiral staircase leads to the bedrooms and shower room. A double bedroom with traditional cast iron bed. A smaller bedroom with three-quarter bottom and single top bunk. A lovely bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, under floor heating, fuel and power are included. There is a sunny patio with furniture for alfresco dining, below a pretty garden. Ample parking is available on the quiet lane close to the cottage. There is a secure point to lock bikes. Pets and smoking in the cottage are not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Weekly bookings are normally Friday to Friday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.
