Eagle Cottage is a lovely cottage in a quiet little lane just down from the centre of Birchover which is a super village in the Peak District hills between Bakewell and Matlock. The cottage's cosy lounge with its log burning stove, attractive dining room, well equipped kitchen and super bedrooms with crisp linen and fluffy towels make it a great holiday retreat.

Birchover is just as brilliant with its 'sleepy cat on a stone wall' atmosphere, Red Lion pub and Druid Inn restaurant. Heather clad Stanton Moor with the Kings Stone and Nine Ladies Stone Circle is just above the village. Cratcliff Rocks, Robin Hood's Stride and the Hermits Cave are down in the valley. The Limestone Way setting out across the wonderful Peak District hills runs right past the village.

With walks a plenty you may decide to while away your days in and around Birchover. But remember that Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the Derwent Valley Dams and all the Peak District's other famous attractions are close at hand. Alternatively take the little-uns to Gulliver's Kingdom, treat the older-ones to white water adventures at Carsington Water and perhaps all of you can revel in nostalgia on Crich's wonderful tramway. In complete contrast drop to 'Oblivion' at Alton Towers.

Cottage facilities:

A cosy lounge with comfortable settee and chairs, stone fireplace, glowing log burning stove, T.V., DVD, Freeview and Wi-Fi. An attractive dining area with table and chairs. A quality fitted kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and automatic washer. A lovely double bedroom with pine furniture. A second double bedroom of the same quality. A sparkling bathroom with bath/shower over and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided.  Storage heating, power and an initial supply of logs for the stove are included. There is a small front garden and a rear lawned garden with patio and furniture. Off road parking for one car is immediately in front of the cottage and there are lots of other spaces on the quiet village lane. A Z-bed can be requested. Secure under cover storage for bikes is available about 200 yds. away. Pets and smoking are not permitted in the cottage. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.
