The cottage, built of local limestone and renovated to a very high standard, provides high-quality accommodation for families and friends and is within an easy walking distance of the popular spa town of Buxton. The cottage has been lovingly converted and decorated with an open plan living area with beams including a kitchen and a cosy sitting room. From there, you walk along into a double bedroom and a king-size bedroom and bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen which can provide anything from a small family breakfast, or a family feast late in the evening. After dinner, relax and enjoy the stunning views overlooking the vast fields leading into Peak Forest. Enjoy walks from the cottage doorstep into Smalldale, Hargatewall or take a bike to the nearby Peak Forest. Short drives will bring you into Buxton town where you can experience the many attractions it has to offer, the Pavilion Gardens, art galleries and even The Buxton opera house. An ideal Buxton cottage situated in a very quiet location with views of open countryside, ideal for family holidays at any time of the year.
It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. There is good walking close by and a number of towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale.
