Guests say

Riverside Cottage in St. Austell, Cornwall, offers a comfortable stay with well-furnished rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness and the quality of kitchenware. The sound of a nearby stream adds to the charm, though some guests noted the location lacks views. The property is well-suited for exploring Cornwall.

The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with well-set out spaces and lovely linen. However, one review mentioned dust and a less-than-spotless bath, suggesting room for improvement.

The central location is praised for its convenience to other destinations, but some guests were disappointed with the lack of views and the property feeling somewhat enclosed.

Guests find the property roomy and the beds comfortable, with nicely furnished rooms and a superb sofa. However, there were comments about hard beds and pillows, indicating that comfort levels may vary.

While the kitchen is well-equipped with nice crockery and cutlery, the absence of a dishwasher and an ancient stove were noted. Maintenance issues like a leaky toilet cistern were reported but not addressed during the stay. Due to mixed feedback and some unaddressed maintenance concerns, a score cannot be accurately provided.

The welcome pack received mixed reactions, with some guests finding it lacking compared to previous experiences. It's important to note that while welcome gifts can enhance the experience, they are not guaranteed and can vary.

We booked last minute as we were let down by our previous booking. Everything was as described. Cleaner and managing agent quickly sorted out towels and replacement toaster. Excellent. Thank you.

Message but nothing was done about it. It was quite comfortable but not as clean as it could have been a lot of dust in the bedroom and the bath not very clean. When we stripped the beds to leave the mattress protectors on 2 of the beds were badly stained which had we known we would not have slept in them. On the good side it was very quiet and generally quiet comfortable.

Nice sound of a stream though. Welcome pack was abysmal 2 individual salt & 3 pepper sachets, packet of 6 biscuits, 6 coffee and 6 tea sachets, 1 pint milk. The soap dispensers were so watered down as to be useless. Usually we’ve been welcomed with scones with jam and Cornish clotted cream, jar of coffee and tea and sufficient milk, sugar, S & P, herbs and sauces etc. Thankfully, we had had lunch en route! Kitchen had nice crockery and cutlery, cooking utensils etc. Stove was very ancient with solid electric rings. No dishwasher which was annoying. No washing machine in property though there was one round the corner of building and it cost £3 per wash. Rude! I didn’t price the dryer if there was one. However…..rooms were nicely furnished with a superb sofa, which I would love to buy, in the downstairs lounge room. Beds were very comfy but 2 bedrooms were a bit tricky for tall people. Linen and towels were lovely and although downstairs, the walk in shower was good. Didn’t use the one over the bath on the ground floor. Had a lovely week but have been honest about the property.
