The Glowdgie is a traditionally-styled, detached bungalow, quietly situated just 300 yards from the popular surfing beach at Polzeath, on the stunning North Cornwall coast. This pet-friendly property accommodates up to eight guests, and offers sea views across to Stepper Point and Pentire headland, making it a perfect retreat for families. The spacious living room has direct access onto the decked terrace and sheltered garden and is the ideal place to relax after a busy day on the beach. Light the woodburning stove and sink into a deep armchair to watch the ever-changing seascape. The fully-fitted kitchen has a table perfect for lazy breakfasts or quick lunches to feed hungry tummies, whilst there is a separate dining room next door for relaxed family meals, alternatively you can sit outdoors on the raised deck, making the most of Cornwall's mild weather. Wake up to stunning, early morning coastal views from three of the well-appointed bedrooms and enjoy wonderful skies and sunsets in the evenings. Conveniently located, just a short walk away from Polzeath, the Glowdgie has all the ingredients for an unforgettable seaside holiday; surfing, golden sands, secluded sunbathing, nearby shops and beach sports. Hiking enthusiasts can take a coastal walk to The Rumps, a National Trust reserve on Pentire Point, and explore the rugged cliffs and iconic landscapes of North Cornwall. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a picturesque haven for wildlife, right on your doorstep. Dogs are welcome on the coastal paths and at nearby Rock and Daymer Bay beaches all year round - but there is a seasonal dog ban on Polzeath beach from Easter to October. There are plenty of great places to eat out at Polzeath to suit all tastes and we recommend packing a picnic or barbecue to make the most of the amazing sunsets. For a day trip why not catch the foot ferry to Padstow to explore this harbour town, or head to Port Isaac village - the fictional town of 'Port Wenn' in the Doc Martin TV series. Escape to beautiful Cornwall at The Glowdgie.
The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

Perfect size and layout for a family or group of friends and the garden is secure enough for the dogs. Position is perfect for enjoying all that Polzeath has to offer - easy access to the beaches and cliff top walks, as well as the village itself. Lovely views from the deck, sunsets in particular were beautiful.

The location, verandah and well equipped kitchen and shed were all much appreciated. Thank you

Had a fantastic week at the Glowdgie. The house is big enough to accommodate a large family and the views from the back of the property are lovely. Has everything you need for a brilliant holiday, short walk down to the beaches, shops and also up to Pentire Point.
