Built in 1756 as The Vicarage and divided in two in 1956 it is now known as The White House and sits directly adjacent to the Kennet and Avon Canal by Lock number 67. Pass through the electric gates and make your way down the expansive driveway alongside this remarkable white-washed dwelling before parking up and unloading your belongings to begin your staycation in your new home-from-home. Stepping inside, be charmed by the traditional character of the sitting room, beautifully-appointed with high vaulted ceilings, exposed wooden beams and a rustic open fire, with original artwork adorning the walls, making for the perfect space to unwind of an evening, catching up on your favourite show on the Smart TV. Continuing through, pass the elegant piano in the hallway before making your way into the amply-equipped kitchen, thoughtfully laid out with an Iroko wooden kitchen island and a rustic oil AGA (with electric companion); here you will find all the amenities needed to rustle up some culinary delights, plus a cosy banquet seating area to enjoy a casual kitchen breakfast or supper. Note: There is an exposed beam on the floor in the second-floor bedroom that may be a tripping hazard, because of this, this room is only suitable for adults, please take care and mind the step.

Note: The property next door has a right of way through the gated entrance and along the drive way which must be kept clear at all times booking.

Note: Guests may park two cars in the double oak-framed carport (1 x 4 metre car and 1 x 5 metre car) but parking is not permitted on any of the gravel area to avoid blocking the neighbours right of way.

There is plenty of surplus parking in the cul de sac just outside the gates.

Note: There is a train line that runs parallel to the canal on the far side of the canal, it is not a major line but related noise will be heard.
