Laxfield is about half-way between the Suffolk market towns of Halesworth and Framlingham, just 40 minutes' drive from the coast at Southwold or Aldeburgh. Just off the main road, called The Street, lies the school and pre-school, the village hall and the Baptist chapel. In the centre, near the wonderful All Saints Church and the historic Guildhall are a thriving modern Co-op store and two charming pubs. Close by, Halesworth is full of character, with old buildings, a weekly market held on a Wednesday and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. The beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coastline features unspoilt heathlands and the rspb Minsmere Nature Reserve, whilst the delightful coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are all within a short drive. The accommodation is well laid out, in excellent order, and a good location for a peaceful stay. We found it great for exploring Suffolk, and there are some lovely places to visit. The location is on a working farm which you will hear the occasional cow or tractor but nothing that will spoil your peace. The bed is both large and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Although we didn't make use of the pool, it is available for a free half hour each day which you can book with the owners. Altogether Holy Cow is highly recommended.
