About this property

This charming black and white Grade II listed semi-detached cottage is ideally situated in the picturesque village of Pembridge, ‘The Jewel in the Crown’ of north Herefordshire’s Black and White Village Trail. Perfect for a romantic retreat or a family holiday with a host of options for eating out, activities and walks within easy reach.

Cobbler’s Cottage is packed full of medieval charm and cosiness with original beamed walls and ceilings, an inglenook fireplace and warming wood burning stove. The pretty kitchen boasts a Belfast sink and bespoke units, and leads down a couple of steps to the more recently added garden room, a light and sunny space from where the well-established and mature cottage garden can be viewed and enjoyed. The inviting sitting room showcases the beautiful inglenook fireplace; and gnarly old beams create a quirky partition from the slightly raised dining area.

The original staircase leads from the sitting room up to a calming landing, furnished with a desk and easy chair, ideal for some quiet reading or catching up on some emails. The romantic bedroom features a double bed, a pretty picture window and a television. The tasteful and fresh family bathroom is also upstairs and includes a shower over the bath. Outside, the pretty cottage garden is fully enclosed for our canine guests, and thoughtfully provides sun loungers, a rocking seat, dining furniture and a barbecue; not to mention a summer house!

The location of Cobbler's Cottage is enviable with plenty to enjoy without getting back in the car; Pembridge is a very special, quintessential English village, often described as ‘The Jewel in the Crown’ of north Herefordshire’s Black and White Village Trail. Have a drink or a traditional pub meal at the 15th century New Inn, where in fine weather you can spill out onto the historic 16th century market square. For finer dining, The Cider Barn restaurant is just up the road and never disappoints. Stock up on some seasonal local produce at the superb farm shop and cafe, or marvel at the clock workings within the 14th century bell tower of St Mary's church.

When you've exhausted all that Pembridge has to offer, many beautiful market towns including Ludlow and Hay-on-Wye are within easy reach. Set within a National Landscape area, there are plenty of fabulous walks nearby such as Offa’s Dyke and The Mortimer Forest, along with a good choice of stately homes and gardens to explore.

Cobbler's Cottage is a the perfect choice for a wonderful stay in Herefordshire, and if you don't believe us, just read the glowing reviews!
