Salty Puffin is a well-regarded holiday cottage, praised for its comfort, spaciousness, and well-equipped facilities. The enclosed garden is safe for children and pets, and the property is in a quiet location within walking distance to the beach. Guests appreciate the homely touches and the property's suitability as a base for exploring Anglesey.
Most guests found Salty Puffin clean and well-presented, though there were a few mentions of cleanliness issues such as cobwebs, dust, and a blocked toilet upon arrival. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness and proximity to the beach and local amenities. The walk to the seafront is noted to be steep, which could be challenging for some, but the quiet cul-de-sac setting is appreciated.
Guests consistently describe the property as comfortable, with a homely feel and comfortable beds. There are some concerns about the suitability of the garden for older pets and the firmness of the mattresses, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
The property is well-equipped, with a spacious garden and plenty of kitchen utensils. However, there are comments about maintenance issues such as a broken toilet seat and the need for a deep clean. The facilities are generally well-regarded, but some attention to maintenance would improve the score.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of a welcome pack and amenities for dogs. While these gestures are greatly appreciated by guests, it is noted that such gifts are a courtesy and may vary.
This pleasant bungalow is situated on the outskirts of Benllech, in a cosy cul-de-sac, conveniently placed for access to the beach and local amenities. Perfect for couples or a small family, this cottage has been lovingly designed throughout with pure attention to detail, creating a homely setting for some well-earned relaxation. A small porch welcomes you inside, continuing over to a light, airy lounge which features three comfortable sofas, a warming fire and views of the secluded garden to keep you company. Follow the lovely hallway with its seaside accessories towards the two beautiful bedrooms, both neatly styled and finished with decorative pieces. One room faces the front of the property, whilst the second looks out over the wonderful patio area to the rear. The family bathroom is well-appointed, and is presented as an all-white suite, housing a bath with an overhead shower. Finally, the characterful dining area includes seating for six people, and the country cottage kitchen is ideal for preparing those home-cooked meals.
With patio doors opening up to the enclosed garden, you can wander outside at your own leisure and enjoy a refreshing drink of your choice under the sun. Benllech is a traditional seaside village with a Blue Flag beach, as well as a fine selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. Just a couple of miles away, Red Wharf Bay is famous for its sailing community, beachfront restaurant and the popular Ship Inn, where a warm welcome is guaranteed. Further afield, discover the town of Beaumaris with its superb castle, whilst back on the mainland, Caernarfon, Llandudno and the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park all promise a memorable adventure. A peaceful getaway all-year-round.
Benllech is most famous for its beach. Benllech Beach is a sheltered stretch of golden sands, crystal clear rock pools and glittering sea. Only criticism would be is that whilst you can change the temperature of the heating you cannot change the time it goes on/off. This certainly would not stop us returning though.
