Snaptrip says

Glen Cottage is appreciated for its stunning location and views, offering a comfortable and well-equipped retreat. Guests enjoy the peaceful surroundings and wildlife, with some noting the property is larger than expected. While the charm of the cottage is acknowledged, there are mentions of noise from neighbours and a need for some maintenance and clearer property descriptions.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is generally found to be clean, but issues with overflowing bins and flies have been noted, slightly diminishing the overall impression of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to Keswick and Penrith, with stunning views and opportunities to observe local wildlife.

The cottage is considered comfortable by some, but there are several reports of noise from upstairs and uncomfortable heat control which affect the comfort level for guests.

Facilities are deemed adequate with a well-equipped kitchen and pleasant surprises like a dishwasher. However, maintenance issues such as a loose toilet, damaged floor tiles, and a rusted towel rail have been brought up.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, therefore this category cannot be scored.

Nicely out of the way and gives you the opportunity to avoid the bustle of the bigger towns whilst being close enough to both Keswick and Penrith to be able to easily take advantage of the facilities. We had a minor issue with the cottage heating not working initially, but the owner contacted an engineer and it was up and running again within a couple of hours. Fantastic service - can't ask for better. As others have commented, you can just about hear people in the above accommodation moving around, but if that keeps you awake at night, you're either a very light sleeper or the upstairs guests are grey with big ears and have recently flown in from the Savanna. The cottage is well equipped and the dishwasher was a pleasant surprise. Very comfortable bed (although this is always going to be a personal preference) and nice furnishings. The log burner was toasty on the wet February evenings. Would definitely sent it again!

You can hear the people above but it didn’t bother us. The garden was a great addition on the fabulous sunny days we had. Watching the buzzards on an afternoon was lovely. The cottage was bigger than we expected and had everything we needed.
