Pure Grace (love the name btw) is a fabulous apartment in a fabulous location, the view couldn't be bettered and to be opposite Windermere and the jetties for the boats made it very special.
The apartment is furnished and equipped to a very high and comfortable standard and it was super clean. however there were a few slightly negative things. 1. we could find no instructions for the microwave and could not figure it out. 2. we could find no instructions for the tv, apple tv asked for passwords so we were limited to BBC iplayer 3. there was a problem with the dishwasher, the middle sprayer had fallen off and we couldn't see how to attach it. 4. the plug in the hand basin in the en-suite shower room doesn't work. 5. the downlighters in the bedroom with the en-suite give off migraine inducing flashes when they have been on for a few minutes. (I emailed Lakelovers with these comments during our stay but had no reply) 6. some nicer mugs would be good. Worth noting for others that the welcome packs are very basic i.e. a few tea bags, coffee sachets, sugar sachets, UHT milk sachets and a few biscuits. Not really worth having, you will have to bring your own initial supplies. The purple folder says that some chocolates were left for our enjoyment, however there were no chocolates. Although very clean and comfortable, it all felt very impersonal and business like. There was a notice beside the lift warning that it could break down at any time due to power shortages, it advised us to use the stairs or put luggage or shopping in the lift and send it on its own. it advised that if we were in couples or groups that not all members should travel together then at least someone would know if we were stuck in the lift - slightly alarming. however the apartment is only one floor up and it is easy to send luggage up/down. although I have listed these 'negatives' they are by way of reporting and would not stop us renting Pure Grace again, we would also recommend it to others.

Stunning apartment, luxurious as promised, the view of the lake and the mountains beautiful.
We were disappointed that there were no Xmas decorations considering weâd booked a Chrismas break away, this is the first time ever weâve had to take our own. The key pick up rather impersonal no directions given etc. No welcome pack or basic provisions again a first out of numerous cottages we have rented in the past. Housekeeping rather lax. Although clean and tidy little things had been missed or forgotten. The dishwasher door was broken this has been reported twice on previous reviews, the hinge was broken making it very dangerous. In addition the smell from the dishwasher was disgusting, the soap dispenser wasnât working. Cupboards untidy no attempt to group items to make things easier to find, some cooking items and table mats dirty. Knives useless, our Chrismas day turkey was hacked rather than carved. Instructions missing for key items. No instructions for heating, cooker instructions eventually found in kitchen. Reported lack of instructions for heating and someone turned up with portable heaters! We were too hot not too cold. The second bedroom was like a sauna it was set at 28 C we discovered on our final day when we managed to work out how to use the heating controls. Batteries had run out on remote control, no TV for our first night. Light bulbs in bedroom out. No basic toiletries in bathrooms. A minor but irritating point was no champagne glasses. Broken leg on sofa. There just seemed to be a lack of care, although luxurious something missing!!! Reflected in some way in that there was no Guest Book allowing you to leave personal comments, hence this rather lengthy review. Would we recommend it to others, yes with caveats. Would we return, yes, as we would be more prepared and that view is to die for!

Very disappointed.
This was our second stay at the property and we thought that the 'hiccups' from last time would be gone. Not so. We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the property when we arrived, as we were last time. We thought that lights that didn't work last time surely would this time, wrong! The balcony door had been left half open when we arrived and in a broken state. Reporting this, the maintenance man arrived quite quickly and gave us the best offering he could, ie a screwed in piece of wood to hold it in place and a screwdriver so that I could open it when required (I was not unhappy with this scenario and the maintenance man was very helpful). I had a call back from yourselves with a comment that this had been reported to the owner who was organising a new door(!!) and that they would discuss compensation with him. Compensation wasn't an important item, but when I then get a call from yourselves saying that you had done all that you could so no compensation was appropriate, I was slightly miffed, as this somewhat misses them point. From being happy with your response I went to not wanting to use you again, and wondering if social media is the best way to warn others.

We stayed at this cottage during the Christmas holiday and found it to be a mixed experience.
The property itself is charming and in a beautiful location, but there were several issues that affected our stay. The heating in the house is not very strong, making it relatively cold during the winter months, and it cannot be adjusted, which was inconvenient. The shower water was also on the colder side, though still manageable. Additionally, the cottages are part of a connected complex, and one of the other houses triggered a fire alarm while setting up their fire pit. This disrupted all the cottages for about half an hour, including ours while we were enjoying Christmas dinner. We contacted the maintenance team, but they only recorded the issue over the phone and didnât resolve it immediately. The next morning, the house lost power entirely, forcing us to change our plans and head into town instead of staying in. Overall, the place has potential, but these minor issues, especially during the colder months, detract from the experience. While itâs a decent option for a stay, I would recommend improvements to heating, water temperature, and maintenance response to make it more comfortable for guests.

Having stayed at the Hayloft many years ago, it was a shame to return to it in this way.
The booking was last minute, but after a few hours delay we were assured it was ready for guests. On arrival we found it full of cobwebs and dead insects like it had been empty for a while. The kitchen was like a crime scene with what we hope was red sauce and not blood stains on the tiles, the walls, the floors, the cupboards and the cooker hood. The cupboards were full of crockery and glasses which were stained and greasy to the touch with obvious food residue on them. Worst still the pillow cases had either blood or more red sauce on them which was not the ideal start to a first night holiday rest. A day cleaning most of this up ourselves and running the dishwasher a few times helped make things satisfactory. An offer of a ârepeatâ clean was declined as we had planned a short escape for peace and privacy. Feel reluctant to leave a poor review for a place we previously loved, but the photographs show that the return was far from the standard we expected to come back to.
