What our customers say about their holidays

    • Gina - Verified booking

There is everything to recommend for this holiday house.

It is in a quiet location, with lovely views, just 5 minutes walk from Roundstone, so very convenient for the local food and craft shops, with no shortage of places to eat out. In the good weather, Roundstone felt cosmopolitan, one could eat outside, all close to the harbour, with amazing views to the mountains of Connemara, and happy people, many young and on bicycles, touring the beautiful coastline. The sandy beaches of Gurteen Beach and Dog's Bay just a few minutes drive away with white sand and sheltered aspect are heavenly. It is also an ideal place for touring further up and around the coast, where there are more wonderful, magical sandy bays, and back through the mountains. And what a lovely house to come back to. Freshly caught fish, and a home baked apple pie arrived by magic in our kitchen, Carole was kindness itself, living unobtrusively next door. The place was spotless, and well equipped, with much pine furniture, and light rooms. A perfect relaxing holiday, my husband and I are both water colour painters, and the sitting room was light enough and large enough for us both to paint. When I left my walking boots behind, Carole posted them to me straight away with only friendly words to say about my forgetfulness!! The house felt loved and we felt very at home and cared for beautifully. Thank you Carole!! We will do our very best to return.

Our stay at the Irish holiday cottage was absolutely spectacular!

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how impeccably clean and well-maintained everything was. The attention to detail made it feel like a true home away from home. We were greeted with a lovely welcome package of local treats, which put us at ease after our journey. The cottage had everything we needed. The house itself was beautiful, with breathtaking views of the Irish countryside, and every room was bright, spacious, and spotless. The hosts clearly took great care in maintaining the property, and their love for it was evident in every detail. Their hospitality was exceptional – they were always available to answer questions but gave us plenty of space to relax. Every aspect of our stay was completely stress-free, thanks to how thoughtfully everything was organized. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend this cottage to anyone seeking a truly special Irish getaway!

Our stay in the the cottage in Curhoor was outstanding!

The cottage is absolutely stunning, like a show house, exactly like the pictures. Its been completed to an extremely high standard. Had everything we needed for our stay which consisted of 2 adults and 4 kiddies. The house was very comfortable and was imacutately clean. Having Netflix on the tv was a hit in the evenings when everyone was tired. Its a quiet area which was really nice, you do need a car to stay here. Its about a 10 minute drive to Loughrea which has plenty of shops and nice restaurants and roughly 40 minutes spin to Galway city. The basket of goodies was well received by our tired hungry smallies when we arrived and much appreciated Dolores. We couldn't fault anything and will be back again if you'll have us. We still have loads of sight seeing yet to do in Galway. Many thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage with us.

Very well equipped, cozy and spacious cottage.

The cottage does not have WiFi. Since we had to work a bit despite being on vacation, we brought a mobile WiFi router with us (available from Amazon and elsewhere), bought an Irish SIM card (much cheaper than in Germany) and thus had unlimited internet for all the laptops we brought with us. The owner is extremely nice and helped us in every way. She lives on the same property and is therefore available for any problem. Idyllic, very quiet location overlooking the Atlantic and the beautiful village of Roundstone on the opposite bank. We have made many trips - e.g. to Clifden, Galway, to Connemara National Park, to Kylemore Abbey - it was a great holiday.

The cottage was a lovely place to stay in .

We loved the building it was beautifully done . Everything was immaculate I have already mentioned the following to the owner . The direction were impossible to follow as they dont even give a starting point . When we got the sat nav working we still could not see the property from the road . The property was beautifully dressed but lacked a lot of basic self catering equipment . Such as serving dishes etc etc The owner did bring us a coffee maker and colander . I left a long list of missing items . Not as a complaint but as advice . I am sure this has been sorted by now . A beautiful house to stay in .

    • Landmark Landmark

Oscar Wilde & Eduard Vilde Statue

These bronze sculptures were a gift from Estonia in 2004, and are in memory of the Irish writer, Oscar Wilde and Estonian writer, Eduard Vilde. The figurines are sitting on a bench facing each other. They are located on William Street in the centre of Galway city, and attract both tourists and buskers alike. 43 William St, Galway, H91 K6PN, Ireland.

    Menlo Castle

Menlo Castle is a charming ruin from the sixteenth century. It is situated on the banks of the River Corrib not far from Galway City. From 1600 to 1910, the Blake family called the castle their home. The family added a Jacobean palace to the original tower house in the late 17th century as the castle was extended through time. The castle was gutted by fire in 1910, which also sadly claimed the life of Lord and Lady Blake's daughter. All of the building's belongings were also destroyed. The only remaining structures were the ivy-covered walls, which are still visible today. The outside of the ruins can be viewed by following a nearby track, or by taking a river cruise/experience. Access is not suitable for people with reduced mobility due to the rough track that leads to the castle. Menlo, Co. Galway, Ireland

    The Medieval City Walls

Galway City was once surrounded by a massive stone wall that the Normans had erected to defend its inhabitants from outside invaders. A noteworthy portion of what is left may be seen in the Eyre Square Shopping Center, where two of the original towers, Penrice's Tower and the Shoemaker's Tower, have been maintained along with a 60-metre curtain wall. Informational signs describe the history. Eyre Square Centre,Eyre Square, Galway, Ireland.
