What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Peter Duncan - Verified booking

What a charming and peaceful hideaway. We spent a very relaxing week walking and exploring the Suffolk/Norfolk countryside, returning to White Horse Cottage with all the comforts of home. The kitchen was more than adequate with everything you could wish for and the King size bed was so comfortable. The cottage was spacious, beautifully furnished with ample storage and a lovely large bathroom with a walk in shower. We have never been to such a well-equipped holiday cottage before. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed garden which was very pretty with flowers bordering, and the outside table & chairs and sunbed were well used as we had glorious weather. Our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the welcome pack was splendid with all local items. Definitely a place we will return to.

Benhall green was everything promised and more. We felt totally relaxed the minute we arrived. It had everything and more. Such a relief to find sharp knives, always a bug bear of mine. Plenty of crockery, glasses and utensils. What a perfectly lovely courtyard to relax in after a day cycling, the conservatory was our morning lounge perfect with our first cuppa of the day then the comfort of reclining sofas in the evening with a decent size TV. As keen cyclists we found plenty of safe nearly traffic free routes taking in the beautiful open countryside long interesting rivers and wide open ocean. Plenty of eateries, pubs and cafes and also local farm shops. We will definitely be returning.

We visited in November and still enjoyed the location and cottage which was excellent. It would be lovely to spend a holiday in Spring/Summer because the facilities are wonderful. The garden is secure, our two dogs were safe and able to run free. We were left a lovely welcome bag with local goodies, much appreciated. We did leave a day earlier then planned, because of illness, but I could have stayed in this cottage for ever it was so welcoming and comfortable. I met the owner when walking the dogs, she was so pleasant and knowledgeable and welcoming. The White Horse Cottage is a property that I would recommend.

      A great place to stay.

Very comfortable with plenty of space and well equipped for two people. A great large private garden and comfortable furniture through out. Plenty of storage space for clothes and food in the kitchen area. Very quiet and well situated. The conservatory is excellent as well as the out door seating. Sykes website states that a microwave is suppled but it is not. The only small downside is that the bed is very creaky and impossible to get out of during the night without waking your partner. Would also have preferred a lighter quilt for the summer.

The owners live next door to the Barn and welcomed us on arrival.

We are both elderly and they helped us in with our luggage, food and things I thought we might need. How wrong I was; everything you can possibly need is provided in a house that is immaculately clean and beautifully furnished, including flowers from the lovely garden that can be enjoyed from either the patio or sun room, according to weather. Logs were provided for the wood burner which they lit for us when the temperature dropped. They were unobtrusive but ready to help, if required. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.
