A fabulously clean, comfortable and well appointed cottage. The bed is extremely comfortable and a good power shower. All the sheets, towels and soaps are excellent quality. Definitely the cleanest dog friendly cottage we’ve stayed in. The large garden is extremely secure with discreet wire fencing surrounding the whole of it. A great base for exploring the Suffolk coast. There is also a pub at each end of the road, easily walkable, but will need a torch at night. We favoured The Queens Head, Blyford 0.7 miles. Great food and fantastic staff. The Star Inn didn’t have a chef when we went, so no food. Parking is the only issue here. There is space for one car outside, but you will need to tuck it tight against the wall. However, there is a parking bay 25 meters further down the road. If you get a chance go to the Queen’s Head Inn at Bramfield. A 2.5 mile drive, but amazing. We will definitely book here again. Thankyou.

My dealings with Sykes was not positive.
But we loved the space of the house. It does feel like someone has moved out and left some belongings behind. A welcome book would be helpful giving basic instructions on how things work, where to find the wifi password, and specific instructions around bins, stripping beds etc. There was not enough cutlery for the number of guests - 7 forks for 8 people. There was 8 knives and spoons but you would expect at least double for the number of guests. The bedding and towels did also not fit with the rating of a 5 star property. It again felt like a mish mash of bedding and towels that had been left behind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but we have our own holiday home and always appreciate honest feedback.

Japonica cottage was a lovely place to stay for a relaxing break with our two dogs! The decorating was done to a high standard, every room was fresh and clean! The whole place was very clean, with lots of thought being given to making guests feel comfortable, and at home! Myself, my husband and our two large dogs had a lovely week there! The garden was large enough for them to have a good run, without fear of them escaping! It was very central for visiting Southwold, Aldeburgh, and surrounding areas! Lots of places to eat, and, an Edwardian cinema in Leiston which is well worth a visit if you like films! All in all…..couldn’t fault anything!

What a little gem! We had the most comfortable and pleasant stay at the Forge and the owners had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. The location was peaceful with lovely views over the countryside and it was ideally situated to visit Aldeburgh, Thorpness, Southwold and other attractions. We particularly enjoyed a visit to the Snape Maltings. The generous welcome pack was a lovely touch and our only regret was that we were not staying longer. We hope to be back and will definitely recommend the Forge (and its neighbouring cottage) to friends and family. Thank you!

We had a wonderful week at Japonica Cottage. It was a cosy cottage, with a nice little garden, so ideal for the two of us and the dog. The village is lovely and quiet, with interesting, quirky houses and lots of places to walk. The Star is a great pub for a drink (we didn't eat there, so can't comment on the food) and the locals were very chatty and welcoming. Great base to explore Suffolk. We especially liked Aldeburgh, with the fresh fish sold straight from the beach, and a trip to Sutton Hoo.
