To find a pretty hideaway in rural Suffolk, head to the village of Barnby where this single-storey abode is surrounded by scenic countryside and open space. Laid out with three guests in mind, the property offers a wonderful base for couples or a small family of three to get stuck into adventures on both the Suffolk Coast and in rural Norfolk. Close by is the river Waveney for paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking. It’s dog-friendly and offers a wide array of walking pathways close at hand, as well as a tranquil, private garden to return to. Day trips to Beccles (4 miles), Lowestoft (6.5 miles) and the vibrant city of Norwich (21 miles) are all easily accessible with a short trip in the car.
In the social heart of the home, find an L-shaped living area with a lounge and well-equipped kitchen to host your relaxing mornings and evenings. A breakfast bar offers a handy spot to sit with delicious meals in front of you, and a Smart TV and electric fire are to be found in the living area to retire to when dinner is done. Along the hallway, a sumptuous double and a cosy single bedroom are both served by a spacious shower room to complete the property’s interior. Outside, enjoy a peaceful and enclosed garden, laid to lawn with outdoor seating, the perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee or al fresco evening meal.
At the northern edge of Suffolk’s heritage coast, Lowestoft (6.5 miles) is a delightful seaside town filled with charm and intrigue. Well known to be the first place you’ll see the sun rise in the UK, you can head to this town early on and watch the sun flood the golden, sandy beach, before grabbing breakfast in a promenade cafe. A great place to visit as a family, you’ll also find a theme park (7.5 miles), two piers and an independent theatre here.

Mr Clapham
Very welcoming cottage, very well equipped and comfortable. Ideal for dogs as the garden is all fenced in. Perfectly situated for discovering Suffolk and Norfolk.
Mr Chamberlain
We received a warm welcome . The accommodation is brilliantly located to explore the river waveney or the nearby dog friendly beaches. It feels a bit of a work in progress. We had pegs but nowhere to peg wet swim stuff. A clothesmade would be handy. The single bedroom consisted of a bed- that's it . A shelf (as not much room for bedside table) maybe a lamp, with nowhere to put clothes. We has a thoughtful welcome hamper, crisps , biscuits, pear juice and fresh (?) Coffee but not cafetiere or percolator to try it. Having said all that, we enjoyed our break, and the dogs appreciated the enclosed garden with walks from the door.
Mr Brabham
Clean, comfortable and well-sited for visits to the beach and the Broads/museums/local pubs for dinner. Thoroughly recommended.
