      We've had a great stay despite the inclement weather at the start of the week. Loved the view from the window, as did our 14 month old grandson. Visits to Holkham Hall, Cromer, Wells, Blickling Estate by various members of the party. We've loved the walking along the Coast Path to Cley, Stiffkey, and out to see the seals (we saw one!) The beer garden at The Kings Arms was a hit with a toddler and four adults, and grown up meals were enjoyed at Blakeney House, The White Horse and from the Two Magpies Bakery. The better weather at the end of the week was a bonus.

    West Runton Beach

    West Runton beach is a lovely sandy/shingle beach and is located between Sheringham and Cromer. It has many rock pools and fossils can be found in the sandstone cliffs behind the beach. It is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to having the largest chalk reef in Europe. It is popular with surfers, sun bathers, fossil hunters, rock poolers’, swimmers and divers alike. Lifeguard service. Dogs are allowed sections of the beach. Slipway.     Wells-next-the-Sea Beach

    Wells Beach is easily one of Norfolk's finest. The sand goes on for miles and miles and hundreds of quirky colourful beach huts on stilts, run along the pine forest wall and back dunes. You can access the beach via the nearby carpark or it's a short walk or miniature rail ride from town along the East Fleet river.
