    Ross Castle

    Ross Castle is perched on Ross Island, an inlet that borders Lough Leane. It is a superb example of a tower house and keep from the fifteenth century and was constructed by the Irish chieftain O'Donoghue Mor. Furniture from the 16th and 17th centuries can be found in the castle, which underwent restoration in 1970. Exhibition, guided tours, museum, walking trails, Car park. Seasonal opening times.
