What our customers say about their holidays

    • June - Verified booking

We arrived at the property after travelling over 7 hours.

Deeply disappointed with the location and state of the property. Lots of items not working dirty and poorly maintained and grubby. Contacted the owner when first having issues…. No reply. However did reply immediately when I text the following morning stating we had left the morning after arriving. Having had to book alternative accommodation. Yes it was that bad! Beds were very uncomfortable, springs totally shot, shower dirty with mould and not working. Properly on a very busy road with single glazed windows in disrepair, a graveyard as a back garden. Got no more than 2 hours sleep that night. Best thing about this property was the new kettle and toaster. Have made a formal complaint to Sykes over a week ago and yet to have any response. I have used Sykes many times before but have to say I will not be using them again. Deeply disappointed ☹️

We loved the Ty Mawr Coach House and found it really comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped. It's a perfect base for exploring Brecon Beacons, right by a beautiful little lake, and we had a lovely time walking, climbing, stargazing and our 12 Yr old son loved the horseriding too. We were grateful for the walking maps and found Llangorse generally a lovely place - we really liked the little community cafe and shop, and the excellent multi activity centre down the road, which were warm and welcoming. Ryan also dropped by to ask if there was anything we were missing which was much appreciated. Thank you for enabling a lovely winter break and rest away from London!

We feel the advert overlooks noticeable drawbacks to this accommodation.

Anyone booking this needs to be aware that it would not be comfortable accommodation for 4 people due to limitations regarding the kitchen and sitting area. The kitchen is limited by not having an actual cooker, restricted work surfaces, no cupboards and minimal space. Likewise the sitting area is very small and not comfortable - there is no room for a small sofa and instead there are 2 tub chairs but there is not room for them to be placed next to each other. The TV is extremely small and the DVD part of the TV is broken. We feel the accommodation Is best suited to those who will be out most of the time.

We were so lucky to be able to get involved with lambing with our 2 young children, 8 and 6. The kids were able to lamb a ewe (highlight of our time here!) and help with hay and water, gave a lamb some milk via bottle, transporting sheep to the field in both the tractor and the quad bike. The family were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our visit to local attractions - Dan -Yr -Ogof Caves and also organised some horse trekking at Cantref (Animal Park and Riding Centre). This is also the home of Cascave Gin and we have bought some to share with family.

Mostly accessible for wheelchair users, dogs on leads welcome, gift shop, refreshments, picnic tables, toilets, child friendly.
