    Self-catering holidays in Padstow

For a holiday that's a wonderful blend of quirky traditions and modern amenities, booking one of our Padstow Cottages should be at the top of your list. On the face of it, Padstow is a working fishing port with old-school charm and rustic character. Dig a little deeper and you'll find that this chocolate-box town has plenty to offer visitors, no matter what your interests might be.

Courtesy of Rick Stein, Padstow has become something of a hotspot for foodies. His restaurant showcases local fishing and farming in delicious dishes served in classy surroundings. Celebrity-run restaurants aside, most of our Padstow Cottages are within easy reach of some lovely pubs and inns and, of course, the ubiquitous chippies. But, if fish isn't your dish, keep an eye out for the local pasties, widely-hailed as the 'best in the west'.

As you're by the sea, you might as well plonk yourself on one of the stunning beaches in the area - Chidley Pumps, Trevone and Harlyn beaches are all worth a visit. Sporting types might like to try their hand at surfing and there are plenty of surf schools in the area. Booking one of our holiday cottages in Padstow puts you within easy reach of all this and much more.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Karen - Verified booking

The property is clean, the beds are comfortable, there is everything you need in the kitchen, however… Do not book unless someone is at least 5ft 6in and able bodied, the cupboards are so high you will struggle if you are short.

There’s a step in the shed apparently, but not sure how safe this fix is? The tv in the conservatory didn’t work, there’s no remote for the tv in the twin room, the kitchen sink drain smells terrible. The cupboard door in the conservatory comes off if you catch it (my dog caught his bottom on it so I had to try to fix the already broken hinge). The loo seat is loose, tried to fix this too but think it needs replacing. Then there’s the front door. The moment there is any warm/sunny weather it sticks to the point it feels like it’s going to completely come off. Overall it just feels a little unloved, which is a shame as it’s ideally positioned for the gorgeous north Cornish coast. So whilst we enjoyed our stay we wouldn’t return to this property.

Lovely clean cottage that has been furnished to an extremely high standard. All those little extra touches were unexpected and made our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Everything and more was provided. We would definitely stay again and hope the cottage is available in 2019! Thank you for making our stay so wonderful with all those extra touches, especially the cake on arrival. The owners have clearly thought a lot about this property in ensuring its furnished to a high standard with all those extras we did not imagine would be included or provided - thank you!

This was our first visit to Padstow having previously visited Dartmouth each year. Padstow did not disappoint for atmosphere and places to visit. Booking through Cornish Horizons was straightforward and quick confirmation and details on finding the property and collecting keys were comprehensive and clear to follow. Follow up after leaving personal property at the cottage was also efficiently dealt with. We will be back and booking with Cornish Horizons again. Thank you.

Overall this is a lovely property in a great location just a few miles outside Padstow.

St Merryn is just a mile or so away, however due to the lack of footpaths its not a walkable journey. Propoery is located on a holiday park which gives good access to a large shop. One small thing would be that the hot water is on a boost button, and it took us a day or so and a few cold showers to figurr it out. So clesrer instructions would have been helpful. Other than rhat a lovely place and would definitely visit again.

The accommodation had everything we needed.

The back garden is enclosed and ideal for dogs. It’s a great base for visiting the surrounding areas. The site has 2 bars and a shop. When we visited the shop, it was waiting for delivery and it seemed quite pricey. There are supermarkets nearby which are cheaper. Both pubs were welcoming but we had a fantastic time at The Beeches pub. Food was delicious and the staff were fantastic.
