What our customers say about their holidays

    • Paul - Verified booking

Pros:- A lovely tidy clean bungalow with beautiful views, very comfortable roomy lounge and well appointed kitchen/diner, 2 good size bedrooms and a nice sized master with an en-suite bathroom and a separate good sized shower/toilet bathroom.

My son and I enjoyed quite a few games on the pool table in the games room provided for us. There is also a large laundry with good appliances and plenty of equipment to meet your laundering needs, baskets, airers, irons and ironing boards etc. Also there are 5 vacuum cleaners enough for each accommodation to use. Another treat is a lovely lake walk on the property with abundant wildlife, it is located a couple of minutes from the complex. And finally there was ample parking for 5 cars all be it a bit far away (100 yards ish) Cons:- Although very lovely and comfy it was very hot even with the double patio doors open, we could have done with a couple of fans to circulate and cool the air in the front room and the bedrooms, also because the doors were wide open we had a lot of flies to deal with (some kind of insect zapper would be good), which was a bit of a pain. Wifi was about 5/6 mbs download speed and not secured which is a bit worrying and quite slow, especially in the evenings with streaming Amazon and my lad on his laptop and phone, could do with upgrading also a small bugbear was having to log in again every morning, also if you use Chrome book you cannot log in. The pool table was great, but it was very hot during the day even with both doors open (a fan would be good), it was also a pain remembering to get 50p pieces to play, I would rather pay say £20 on top of the holiday fee and enjoy unlimited games, but that's just me. Conclusion:- A very enjoyable holiday and would definitely go again, We really loved the peace and tranquillity with the occasional mooing of cows and beautiful bird songs and excellent views. Padstow, Wadebridge and Newquay are a short distance away for amenities such as shopping beaches etc. Finally we would thoroughly recommend Kingcup cottage as a holiday destination.

We booked this cottage as a last minute change to our original holiday due to the ongoing Covid restrictions and we weren't disappointed.

The cottage is amazing! We met the owners who live next door who were extremely welcoming and left us a lovely bottle of wine on our arrival. The property offers everything you need and more. The decor is a very high standard and presented beautifully with lovely touches making it feel very warm and welcoming. The views from the outside upper terrace are superb and go on for miles. The photos of the cottage on the website really don't do the property justice and we were surprised by how spacious it was. The kitchen area is fantastic and extremely well equipped. The lounge area is very comfortable and roomy, with the added bonus of a large dining table next to the double doors leading to the upper terrace. There is ample, comfortable furniture on the terrace with a gas BBQ. Both large bedrooms have the own superb walk-in shower rooms with rain showers with the master having a slightly larger one. The cottage has it's own driveway and rear garden, perfect for children or dogs as it's quite well enclosed and planted out beautifully. Conveniently located for access to many outstanding beaches, shops, restaurants and other adventures on offer in Cornwall. The village the cottage is located in, St Columb Major, is within 5 minutes walking distance and offers a Co-op, butchers, pubs and handy other services. We will definitely be back as we can't commend the owners enough for providing such a truly lovely holiday home.

A Cornish holiday cottage that exceeds expectations at every level!

Incredibly comfortable beds and bedding and well thought through en-suite bathrooms in each, through to the upstairs living area that ticks every box with many impressive finishing touches. Through to a door to the upstairs large balcony and relaxing furniture. Finally views across the Cornish countryside from your balcony and upstairs windows that can include a stunning sunset. The outdoor garden area is also extensive, well kept and great to relax in. Situated in a location that removes you completely from what can be a busy part of Cornwall and allows time to relax, with a wonderful owner next door that is there if you need anything but equally leaves you to completely enjoy your break undisturbed. For those with an EV, it’s located ten minutes from Kingsley Village and a plethora of high speed chargers alongside an M&S, Boots etc The location in North Cornwall is perfect and in established reach of within 15-20 minutes of the north coast beaches,Newquay,Padstow and Wadebridge. Having stayed in Cornish cottages for the last ten years this is by far the family’s favourite, so much so we’ve booked to return this summer.

Fantastic week in a lovely cottage with brilliant views.

We have just returned from a week at the Coach House. For us it perfectly met what we wanted from start to finish. It’s in a great location with access to some great north coast beaches less than 25 minutes away but still close enough to the South coast for easy access. The views were great and the layout means you get to enjoy these during the day. We found the cottage to be perfectly kitted out with everything we needed and clean. The upstairs balcony is a great idea but we only got to enjoy it on a couple of evenings as the weather tended to turn wet later in the afternoons during our stay. With good weather this is the perfect place to spend an evening. The owner was friendly and on hand if we needed anything without being intrusive. Finally a special mention for the butchers bakehouse in Columb St Major. What a fantastic place this is. The cakes and croissants are amazing and although we didn’t buy any bread from here it also looked fantastic. All in all after 18 months of Covid restrictions this was the ideal cottage, location and place in the world to have a safe and enjoyable holiday :)
