What our customers say about their holidays

    • Ms Cattell - Verified booking

We have stayed in numerous properties in Mawgan Porth and have to say that Treath Barn is an absolute stand out! Perfect location for access to the sea - yes its a steep walk down ...and especially up, but far shorter than accessing from the village and walking across long stretches of sand. The layout of the accommodation itself was perfect for us, especially being able to section off the downstairs bedroom and bathroom areas to keep wet dogs contained. The property was also equipped to a very high standard. I love to cook and usually have to 'make do' without weighing scales, baking tins, rolling pins etc...but not here - Treath's kitchen was just like a home from home. Finally I must commend the beautiful furnishings, a squishy, luxurious, wonderful sofa, lovely wall art and decorative touches, and some quality cook books and reading material to boot! Wonderful. We'll definitely be back.

We will return next year! Sunspray is in a perfect setting, just steps down to a superb beach, Mawgan Porth. The accommodation is light, airy, spacious and almost luxurious. We were 7 and felt very comfortable. We stayed for the 3rd week in September, the beginning of Autumn and were warm in the house. We had lovely weather and in fact we had the patio doors open! In the basement beach equipment is provided. The kitchen equipment was tip top with basics like dishwasher tablets, washing powder, tea bags, toilet roll provided. There were plenty of mugs, plates, glasses, pans and cutlery. (We only wished for an electric hand whisk!) We ate in every evening and used the barbecue. The outside seating area is good with a balcony right around the property which means you can sunbathe all day long. There is plenty of space for parking. In fact we had 5 cars, including a van.

Sunspray is a stunning house, very comfy, lovely decor with lovely views all around. Due to its location anyone with limited mobility would struggle to use the steps down to the road or the steps to the beach but anybody who is able bodied would be fine. There is a car park at the bottom of the hill so easy to drop people off for the beach. The house has plenty of equipment in the kitchen and there was washing up liquid etc in the cupboards. The welcome pack was much appreciated. If you like Nespresso coffee take some pods with you as there is a machine. We had a great stay and would certainly look forward to staying at Sunspray again the future.

Treath Barn is a beautiful barn conversion - it felt like home. The open plan living area has everything you need and is comfortable (the loaf sofa a big plus). The kitchen is well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher plus an nespresso coffee machine (another big plus). The views are lovely and spending time sitting in the picture window was a favorite of mine. The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely, clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space. The walk to the beach/village centre from the Barn is lovely - it is hilly so great exercise. Will definitely plan to visit and stay here again.

Beautiful property, however views were restricted by the properties below which was less than described. It would benefit from a deeper clean and some light maintenance. The patio area needed to be cleared of fallen leaves and in particular the palm fronds. Advance warning of the hidden cutlery drawers would have been appreciated and would have avoided out of hours calls with the local representative. Pathways to the beach are either via the road or a steep walk down to the beach between houses; not easy for the elderly or those with a pushchair. Overall a lovely stay.
