What our customers say about their holidays

    • Ali - Verified booking

Really enjoyed our stay at Kimberley House.

The kids loved playing in the games room and the dogs enjoyed the huge garden space! The cottage is very traditional and we loved the country feel - with modern facilities such as an Echo device in the kitchen and smart tv in the living room. Plenty of space inside and out of the cottage to avoid feeling cramped up with 6 of us and 2 dogs staying! It was in an ideal location to access lots of different activities for the kids (age 6 and 3), and lots of beautiful beaches all within a 10-20 minute drive. The pub at the top of the road was very welcoming and we had a great Sunday lunch there; we parked our cars in the car park to the right of the pub behind the church. We would absolutely consider coming back again we have had a fantastic holiday!

Had an amazing week at Kimberly house.

We’re definitely looking at booking it again. It sleeps 7 so more than enough room for my husband and I along with our two greyhounds. Cottage has everything you need, everything works. The property has lots of character. Garden is massive, well kept, and enclosed Parking wasn’t an issue most of the time we got a space right outside on the square, but when that was full the free car park is a 2 min walk away and always had spaces. The village itself is so pretty, the pub is dog friendly and a 2 min walk away, we didn’t eat there so can’t comment if the food is good, only a mile or so from Newquay and short drives from other popular towns, it was a great base for exploring Cornwall, we didn’t want to leave!

    • Mrs Corley - Verified booking

Very pleased with our choice. Well equipped, clean and comfortable. Location is very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of Cornwall in the holiday period but this suited us. Within easy driving distance of the main attractions. Lovely shower and bathroom. Beds comfortable but as previously mentioned the double is low to the ground. Upstairs lounge a lovely space and very cosy when the log burner is lit. Stairs are open plan which our 2 little dogs did not like at all. They had to be carried up and down, (which they were very happy with!) Tea , coffee and biscuits a welcome treat on arrival. Overall good value for money and ideal if you want a chilled, quiet week away.

    • Mr Toennigs - Verified booking

The house was easy to locate and a delight to stay in for the week with plenty of space for all of our party to make use of. It was an extremely pleasant surprise to find how well stocked the kitchen equipment was and similarly the amount of beach equipment (buckets, spades, windbreaks etc) available for those items you inevitably forget to pack. The welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk was appreciated also. Some of our party found the mattresses a little firm for their liking but the property was in good condition and clean throughout. Good local convenience store in St Merryn and close to Padstow Farm Shop which we’d recommend as well.

    • Lisa - Verified booking

The heating pipes vibrated so badly we had to switch it off at night.

It stopped working completely on the 3rd day. There was none of the promised wood for the log burners. I booked it because there was a bathroom each for my mum and me, but the upstairs bathroom was full of black mould. The tiny basin in the shower room was cracked right through. The freezer was so dirty I had to wrap our cool box blocks in cling film before putting them in there. There was dust and dirt everywhere. It was like someone had done a 5 minute whip round, but that was all. At over £100 a day, I expect a much better standard than this. Such a shame, as all our othere stays at Sykes cottages have been lovely.
