What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Treadwell - Verified booking

We loved staying in this 2nd floor flat overlooking the beach in Tenby, Do not be put off by the frontage of the flat. Once you are in, and up the two flights of stairs, you enter an incredibly comfortable, beautifully decorated, spacious flat. Quality bedding and furniture, everything you could imagine needing in the kitchen and such wonderful views. We carefully moved one of the sofas to the window so, with the two arm chairs, we were all available to admire the views. The best thing about the views are that they are changing all the time whether it be the tide, the weather, activity on the beach or people, passing by, Double glazing makes this a very quiet flat apart from occasional noise from upstairs (but nothing that bothered us). Very efficient central heating which can be left on timed, thermostat adjusted and/or turned on manually to override the timer. You can’t help but love this flat. Location is great as, while being on the seafront, it is also 20 or so steps from the shops and a maximum of 5 minute walk to the little Tescos. There is also a bigger Sainsbury’s less than 10 minutes away, We used two car parks, one by Poundland just round the corner and on one occasion the multi-storey above Sainsbury’s for a full 48 hour period. We suggest you book the holiday and then factor in the parking cost in your mind before you go then it doesn’t seem so bad when you get there! Parking was £10 or £12 a day and the machines can take cash or we used the phone app to renew each day from the comfort of the flat. Most days we explored the town and roads above the two beaches, walked on the beaches and explored the little shops but there are plenty of places to go from here that are farther afield. We would have liked to have taken the boat from the harbour below us over to Caldey Island but the weather didn’t match our timings. We do recommend you drive out to St David’s to see the ruined, but very interesting, Bishop’s Palace and St David’s Cathedral. It was an hour and quarter drive each way and we spent most of the day there including a lovely lunch in the refectory cafe in the cathedral. A fantastic holiday in an apartment We wish we lived in!!

The reason for the low Equipment and Comfort/Quality is that our overall feeling is that although the property has a great location, it suffers from a general feeling of being tired, e.g. the two sofas have definitely seen better days, with tears or scratches on the 3 seater and feeling the metal frame when you sit down. We had distrubed nights sleep due to the motion sensitive lights recently installed in the bedroom passage. In my opionion, too many lights, too bright and too sensitive(they even seem to be activated by motion on the stairs). The front bedroom didnt have any way to keep the sash window open to get fresh air into it. My feeling is that the oven temperature control is broken. I cooked an indian ready meal at the lower of the recommended temperatures which should have taken 25 minutes. I checked it after 13 minutes and discovered that the plastic trays containing the meal were melting! A great location, but not the quality we would have expected given the price.

Nothing against Original Cottages, description and communications were great. Unfortunately the property was not up to our expectations. Property wasn’t cleaned before our arrival. Had to hoover and do the dust ourselves . Bedsheets were not freshly laundered ( probably has been changed weeks ahead). Plus the choice of very poor quality bedsheets. Not matching and nearly grey of colour. . Smelled of dust and humidity. Mattress was the wrong side up, so we had absolutely terrible first night sleep. Kitchen equipment was ok, but sofas and a cushions in a sitting room are very tied. Bug and dead spiders inside the picture frames. Very disappointing, as we didn’t have a relaxing stay as we wished for. Will not be back to the same property.

Apartment cyfforddus iawn gyda golygfeydd bendigedig o Draeth y Gogledd, yr harbwr a'r môr. A'r cyfan wedi'i fframio gan ffenest fawr drawiadol. Dyna rinwedd mwya'r lle a'r ffenest ei hun. Yn wir, mae'n anodd meddwl am le â golygfa well o eistedd ar y soffa! Lle y galla i ei argymell yn fawr ac yn rhwydd i bobl eraill. Wy eisoes wedi neud sawl gwaith. / Very comfortable apartment with wonderful views of the North beach, the harbour and the sea. And all of it framed by an attractive large window. This is the biggest virtue, and the window itself. It's hard to think of somewhere that has a better view from a sofa! A place I can highly recommend to others. I already have quite a few times.

    • Nigel - Verified booking

My wife and l enjoyed this apartment immensely.

It was so comfortable and convenient for all the amenities and the views were absolutely stunning. The only drawback for me was, as I suffer from extreme arthritis, l could not open the key vaults or the main building door to get out. We both have had difficulty with the key vaults in all the Sykes Cottages we have stayed in so far, so l could never stay on my own. What did amaze us, is that the owners have thought of everything to ensure that their clients have a wonderful experience in this apartment, so many gadgets for every need. Excellently thought out and very a pleasurable stay in this apartment.
