What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Read - Verified booking

Firstly, and importanly, about the fishing and the wonderful lakes....The fishing lake was a very pleasant surprise. We had expected a small, over-stocked carp pond similar to many other rural properties that offer fishing with the accommodation. However, the lake was beautifully mature, and well-managed with a well-balanced stock of silver fish, crucian carp, some tench, and a reasonable head of carp. Short sessions at either end of the day proved thoroughly enjoyable with some beautiful roach to nearly two pounds, rudd, bream, and crucian carp coming to simple float tactics. Carp are also relatively easy to catch and are great fun on relatively light gear. A beautiful place to while away a few hours. Secondly, and as important, we stayed at Owl Cottage, a two bedroom ground floor cottage with parking outside. It's spacious, light and airy. There's outside seating in front of the cottage, and a communal seating area just across the from the cottage. The lakes and walking areas are two minutes away. A lovely place to walk with dogs. It such a peaceful quiet place, only the bird song to listen too. It's 15 minutes away from Holyhead, and so close to lovely beaches. The only issue is there's no internet and little phone signal. However, this actually made the 'getting-away-from-it' perfect! Thank you Andrew, for a wonderful stay. We hope to come back very soon!

      The cabin has it all.

Bluetooth speakers, LED lights, a cosy and homely feel… absolutely everything has been thought of. The hot tub was perfect and we spent our evenings relaxing with it and admiring the views and the calm. The hosts were phenomenal and just lovely people. We felt welcome from the off, and the hamper they provided us was such a lovely touch. We were given some great advice on where to eat and for anyone there to admire the views, we’d recommend travelling to Breakwater Country Park which is about a 15 minute drive from the cabin. Overall, the cabin was just the most homely and warm den. The cabin is on the front drive of the main home and when booking I thought this was a little more secluded and in the middle of a field, however this most certainly did not negatively impact our experience as you still have your privacy. 10/10 from us and I definitely think we will be back! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Owl cottage was perfect for our first visit to Anglesey. Centrally located on the island it was ideal for exploring but was also tucked away in a little corner of paradise created by the owner Andrew. Perfect for a dog friendly holiday we only had to step out of the cottage and there was an idyllic lake walk on our doorstop. The cottage itself was very cosy with a wood burning stove and well equipped kitchen. We were very fortunate with the weather and so were able to enjoy morning coffee or afternoon tea sitting outside, listening to the birdsong. Andrew was on hand to help with anything that cropped up and to offer invaluable advise as to the best beaches to visit and places to eat. All in all we had a great week at Owl Cottage, were sad to leave and will definitely return.

I had a lovely stay at Caban Cariad.

It is a great base to easily visit lots of places on the Isle of Anglesey. Anglesey is absolutely beautiful! The cabin was in a remote location but not too remote with easy access to nearby amenities. Extremely clean and comfortable with everything you need, the welcome hamper packed full of goodies was a lovely touch. Owners were very friendly but hardly saw them between check in and check out so privacy not an issue at all - but they are on hand and willing to help should you need them for anything. Hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a day out exploring and the sunsets from the tub in such peaceful surroundings were just so serene to watch.

We had a lovely stay here at Caban Cariad !

Hosts were very friendly and showed us how to use the oven/ heating / hot-tub, and provided a lovely welcome hamper too! The Caban was extremely clean and welcoming. There was everything you would need to cook with and clean with and the bed was very very comfortable. This was the perfect weekend getaway for friends. Parking was right outside the Cabin. The cabin is located on the owners driveway, next to their house. This isn’t necessarily mentioned in the details or pictures, but would not put me off booking here again! Thankyou for our lovely stay.
